How do I regain weight?

Ok, well I just got diagonosed with type 1 diabetes and lost a lot of weight.

I used to be in to my weights but was just wondering what was the best way to put weight bk on healthly???

I went down to 8 and a half stone now I way 10 and a half but want a ittle bit more???

Dara has put a good link pointing to some good advice.

I think the important thing here is like you say, to put on healthy weight and not just fat.

You will also need to look at combining your eating habits closely with your Diabetes to make sure that you dont make yourself ill.

Cut out most alcohol, I know that you can drink it in moderation if you have diabetes, but now is a good time to regulate your intake to healthy food and drink and in a way that your body and your illness is both able to cope with this.

Keep up with the weights and working out but dont go over the top with exercise as this could cause your blood/sugar levels to go a bit haywire.

Try not to do the same weights every time, look at an overall fitness regime that may include weights, cycling, jogging, situps/pressups etc.

I dont have the best body to advice on this but I know the theory.
