Here are a few questions to the liberals.
If Obama is a devout Christian then why do you support him?
Why do force your belief that no belief should be forced on another person?
We should not push a government on another country, but America should abandon capitalist ideals.
Another nation that believes in Muslim rule is ok, but America should abandon G-d?
Free speech is ok for liberals but conservatives should pay for an alternate view.
How can you accuse conservatives of racism when you yourself have never put as many minorities as conservatives into high positions of power?
Why should law abiding citizens give up guns knowing that illegal gun owners wont?
Why are criminals portrayed as a victim and fetus’s portrayed as a punishment?
Why do you point out the deaths in Iraq, but fail to mention the 36,000 deaths from illegal immigrants in just 4 years?
Why is nuclear energy good for shady nations but not America?
Why is wire tapping bad for Bush but good for Obama
Why is 20k troops bad for Bush but good for Obama
Why is it every time a conservative asks these questions the best answer is an insult?
what a shame…this was going pretty well until cancer put his two cents in…talk about bashing…
ditto jimahl…
Thank you fillet for a spot on response…
“If Obama is a devout Christian then why do you support him?”
What does his christianinty have to do with anything. My wife is a devout christian also, and I still support her.
“Why do force your belief that no belief should be forced on another person?”
I don’t.
“We should not push a government on another country, but America should abandon capitalist ideals.”
Huh? We are not abandoning capitalist ideas. But I will not blindly follow anything based solely on ideology. As filetofspam said, we should do what works best.
“Another nation that believes in Muslim rule is ok, but America should abandon G-d?”
I don’t like the idea of any theocracy, but we have no say in what type of government other countries have. The founding fathers made it quite clear that our government has a separation of church and state. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”.
“Free speech is ok for liberals but conservatives should pay for an alternate view.”
I don’t know of any conservatives who have had their free speech rights denied. Care to enlighten us?
“How can you accuse conservatives of racism when you yourself have never put as many minorities as conservatives into high positions of power? “
You paint with a broad brush. I don’t accuse conservatives of being racist. I accuse racists of being racist, regardless of political ideology.
“Why should law abiding citizens give up guns knowing that illegal gun owners wont?”
No one is asking them to give up their guns. Just to have them licensed.
“Why are criminals portrayed as a victim and fetus’s portrayed as a punishment?”
Neither of these are true.
“Why do you point out the deaths in Iraq, but fail to mention the 36,000 deaths from illegal immigrants in just 4 years?”
Not sure where you are getting your stats from, but it is a moot point. I support a sensible immigration policy. One that will reduce illigal immigration by stemming the demand. Not by building a wall.
“Why is nuclear energy good for shady nations but not America?”
Because america is not a shady nation. There are issues with saftey and nuclear waste.
“Why is wire tapping bad for Bush but good for Obama”
Wire tapping with a warrant = Good. Wire tapping without a warrant = Bad. End of story.
“Why is 20k troops bad for Bush but good for Obama”
What are you talking about? As filetofspam said, I am disappointed they are not getting out quicker.
“Why is it every time a conservative asks these questions the best answer is an insult?”
Not every time a conservative asks these questions. Just the ones that show complete disregard for truth and integrity.
If Obama is a devout Christian then why do you support him?
Religion to me doesn’t have anything to do with government. I base my political beliefs on how people will run the country, not their religion, race, etc.
Why do force your belief that no belief should be forced on another person?
I don’t ‘force’ it, I just believe in it. It’s very annoying to the non-religious people when people are all over you, trying to convert you, or saying, ‘oh, poor you, you haven’t been..’ trust me.
Free speech is ok for liberals but conservatives should pay for an alternate view.
free speech is okay for anyone, but not believing in what one person speaks is a differnet thing. Conservatives all think alike anyway.
lol captain. and I agree with utopia, jimahl and fillet.
GWB said he was a Christian. He was a terrible president. So far Obama is proving to be the same thing.*
You’re president hasn’t been president LONG ENOUGH to prove anything. plus the guy got all the cr@p handed over to him…all the nonsense that BUSH caused.
Oh and at least this one doesn’t make your country look like the joke of the century.
Oh darn… all my answers have already been provided…
“This country seems to move further from Christ every day.” The USA is NOT a christian country. No matter what you want us to believe. We have separation of church and state.
GWB said he was a Christian. He was a terrible president. So far Obama is proving to be the same thing.
“If Obama is a devout Christian then why do you support him?”
I have nothing against Christians. I’ve found over the years that the more public one makes a display of their piety the less likely they are to live it.
“Why do force your belief that no belief should be forced on another person?”
You are attempting to create a paradox out of the very idea that people should be free to follow their conscience. Yes, it is true that I will defend the right of anyone to follow their conscience so long as by doing so they do not prevent someone else from following theirs.
“We should not push a government on another country, but America should abandon capitalist ideals.”
I do not follow capitalism as an ideology. I look at what works. When the free market works I’m for that, when regulation is necessary I’m for that, when it becomes necessary to nationalize something I’m for that. I’m for whatever works. Many of our financial woes today come from ideological capitalists pushing forward even in areas where it wasn’t appropriate to deregulate.
“Another nation that believes in Muslim rule is ok, but America should abandon G-d?”
America was founded to have a secular government. It should be neutral with respect to all religions and world views. One’s religious viewpoint should be a personal mater, not something officially sanctioned by the government. A higher percentage of Americans consider themselves Christian than countries that have an official Christian religion. Our secular government has not hindered Christianity. I’d rather that other nations not become theocracies but I don’t think we should tell them how to run their country either.
“Free speech is ok for liberals but conservatives should pay for an alternate view.”
Not sure what you are hinting at. I support free speech for everyone.
“How can you accuse conservatives of racism when you yourself have never put as many minorities as conservatives into high positions of power?”
I’m pretty slow to accuse people of racism. I thought the Willie Horton ad exploited many people’s racism. Generally I’mslow to label people racist though.
“Why should law abiding citizens give up guns knowing that illegal gun owners wont?”
I think some rational gun control is a good idea but it certainly isn’t my highest priority. Anyway, most gun control laws are state and local.
“Why are criminals portrayed as a victim and fetus’s portrayed as a punishment?”
Everyone has rights including criminals. I’m not against criminals being punished unless the law itself is bogus. I’m also pro-choice because I believe the world would be a better place if every child was wanted.
“Why do you point out the deaths in Iraq, but fail to mention the 36,000 deaths from illegal immigrants in just 4 years?”
I don’t. Our immigration system is ridiculous.
“Why is nuclear energy good for shady nations but not America?”
The biggest problem behind nuclear energy is that it is too expensive. When the fossil fuels become more expensive it may become more competitive. Pebble bed reactors are to me the most promising technology out there.
“Why is wire tapping bad for Bush but good for Obama”
It is bad when it is done without a court order or probable cause.
“Why is 20k troops bad for Bush but good for Obama”
I’m dissapointed that we aren’t drawing down our troops in Iraq more quickly.
“Why is it every time a conservative asks these questions the best answer is an insult?”
Perhaps because you put words in our mouths and ask leading questions?
“If Obama is a devout Christian then why do you support him?”
I have friends from many different faiths including christianity. My problem is with fundamentalist christians who want to force a fundamentalist completely conservative christian america upon everyone. I voted for and support President Obama because I agreed with most of his views.
“Why do force your belief that no belief should be forced on another person?”
I point out that I do not want to be told I am going to hell and do not believe that anyone else should be told that either. I do not want to hear how my beloved grandparents, killed in the nazi camps, are in hell because of their non-christian belief.
“We should not push a government on another country, but America should abandon capitalist ideals.”
As fillet and jimahl pointed out… it is about what works best for the majority of the people.
“Another nation that believes in Muslim rule is ok, but America should abandon G-d?”
A person’s belief in G-d is their own decision. We should have separation of church and state. I believe that we have the right to live in a country that serves all the people, not just the fundamentalist christian right.
“Free speech is ok for liberals but conservatives should pay for an alternate view.”
Everyone has freedom of speech, just as that freedom includes the right to disagree with another’s views.
“How can you accuse conservatives of racism when you yourself have never put as many minorities as conservatives into high positions of power?”
Racism knows no party lines. A racist is a racist based on their actions, opinions and statements.
“Why should law abiding citizens give up guns knowing that illegal gun owners wont?”
I believe in gun control. My son owns guns and believes he has the right to protect his home and family but he also believes that guns should be licensed and controlled.
“Why are criminals portrayed as a victim and fetus’s portrayed as a punishment?”
This is your view, not one shared by any liberal I know. It is an outlandish statement.
“Why do you point out the deaths in Iraq, but fail to mention the 36,000 deaths from illegal immigrants in just 4 years?”
This figure is from an unsubstantiated and dubious study based on a GAO (Government Accountability Office) report that used figures only for the federal prison population – which comprised less than 10 percent of the U.S. prison population – and not for state or local prison populations. The GAO study also reported the percentage of federal prisoners who were “noncitizens convicted of crimes while in this country legally or illegally” NOT just illegal immigrants.
“Why is nuclear energy good for shady nations but not America?”
Currently nuclear energy is not the best solution and the disposal of nuclear waste presents a large problem.
“Why is wire tapping bad for Bush but good for Obama”
Wire tapping (illegal) is bad period. Fine, if you have a warrant.
“Why is 20k troops bad for Bush but good for Obama”
We should be out of this mess period.
“Why is it every time a conservative asks these questions the best answer is an insult?”
This is the first time you have asked questions in this manner…instead you usually opt to use titles such as: “Bend over and brace yourself” or “His stupefying immenseness obama”
or you refer to the President as “Ciceronianism Barak Obama” “Maharaja” Obama” “his holy essence president obama”
Respectful questions seem to receive respectful answers…
there they go again with their typical spin. They say they don’t have problems with christians but boy do they bash them on this site.
cancer - tseirpeht asked the questions and they were respectfully and honestly answered.
and as for bashing christians…only the fundamentalist ones who sit in very “un christ-like” judgment …
* there they go again with their typical spin. They say they don’t have problems with christians but boy do they bash them on this site.
If it makes you feel better, I’m not a liberal, I am mostly unimpressed thus far with Obama’s actions, and I bash Christians too.
I am a conservative Christian and I think that we do get bullied sometimes. This country seems to move further from Christ every day.
“there they go again with their typical spin. They say they don’t have problems with christians but boy do they bash them on this site.”
Bashing to you is any inquiriy by a non-believer into your belief system. As I have said a hundred times, I have no problem with any belief system as long as it doesn’t poke its head into places it doesn’t belong, like the state house, and my kids science class.
“This country seems to move further from Christ every day.”
The founders created this as a secular country. It is not supposed to be anywhere near christ.. So your point is meaningless. You have every right to believe, but you have no right to expect government to respect it.
Clarifying my view on religiosity of candidates, I don’t worry about the religious inclination of candidates unless they intend on trying to force their religious views on everyone else.
If a candidate’s religious belief is that all extra-marital sex is wrong that is fine; if they say that schools can’t teach comprehensive sex education because the only moral way to prevent pregnancy and STDs is abstinence than they are forcing their religious views on everyone else. If a candidate believes the world is 6,000 years old that is fine as well; so long as they don’t try to force science classes to ignore the preponderance of evidence and teach a religious view of origins. If a candidate believes that a soul magically enters every zygote upon conception that is fine as well; if because of this they believe that all abortions are tantamount to murder and want to ban them for everyone else than again they are forcing their religious viewpoints on everyone else.
