Math homework help?

Help me! I am having serious problems with my math homework. (Its about Pythagoras) and its due 2morrow.

Complete the following table, which gives why for various values of x x 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 y

How do you re arrange the formula of this to make why the subject? The formula relating X to why is x² + y² = 100²

And…How do you re arrange the formula to make x the subject???

Help me please!!!

if X square + why square = 100 square

move the why square to the right hand side

so X square = 100 - y [ square]

and take the square root on both sides.

[ okay that was annoying to type, where is the subscript!]

so an example …

x + y =100

to get rid of x you must subtract it

x - x + y = 100 - x

Same goes for y

oh and the x - x = 0 (for the left side) so it can just be taken out of the equation and it will look like y = 100 - x

lol its pretty simple… To move a variable it must equalized into 0… since they are positive numbers you subtract from the left side to get rid of x… if you subtract from the left you must also subtract the same number from the right side. same goes with y. grr this is hard to explain if its not clear enough let me know
