Headphones and speakers

My headphones won’t play through my computer speakers headphone jack, do anyone know how I can fix it? I can hear though the speakers when the headphones are not plug in, and this is the first time this has happen.

Are you sure that you put them in all the way?

Maybe your headphones are broken,try different headphones.

Try putting the speaker that works through the headphone jack. See if you get sound then.

If not,

ask yourself “Have I done anything different than normal sonce this problem started?” For example, installing new software. If this is the case, it is a case of elimination, and is reversable (if you know how)

make sure you have your sound card’s driver (it probably came with a cd when you got your computer) and install it/reinstall it.

If still not, then perhaps you may have some incredibly stupid setting on your computer somewhere (god knows where) wrong so that the sound does not play through the port. This is surprisingly common and I had your problem and this is what it was. Took AGES to find!!!
