How hard would it be to buy a horse back?

My aunt owned a horse that bucked her and her daughter some, I was the only one that could get along with him. She sold him a few months ago to some guy who owns a ranch with a lot of cattle. How hard would it be and does anyone have any tips on talking the guy into selling him back?

It depends, honestly. If you go to the person who bought him and explain what the horse means to you, he may consider it. I’ve heard of some people selling them back on that basis. If he is already attached to it himself, though, then you may have a slight problem getting him back. In any case, it wouldn’t hurt to try.

So..

1.) Call the guy up and see if you can meet with him in person. IN PERSON is best. Don’t do it over the phone. 2.) Explain to him what the horse means to you. Let him know how much you’re attached to it, give the example of you being the only one able to ride it. 3.) Ask him if he’d consider selling it back to you. 4.) Let him know that you’d understand if he said no, but that you really appreciate it if he did consider it. 5.) Thank him for his time.

If he says okay, great. If he says no, give him your number and let him know that the offer still stands should he change his mind. Sometimes people change their mind, sometimes they don’t. If you leave the offer on the table, though, it still leaves you a chance. If he needs time to think let him know that’s okay too.

Good luck.
