Do you think that happiness could have a direct impact on how well someone does in school?

Answer #1

Yeah, I would definitely say so. If someone is depressed they might have difficulty paying attention and focusing on their work. Then again if they are happy they are more motivated and attentive. I went through some major depression during my junior year of high school and it greatly affected my performance.

Answer #2

I’m in my junior year currently and up until yesterday I was so intensely depressed and just plain unahappy. We got my grade card the other day and it wasn’t bad, a 3.2, but I usually get around 3.5 or 3.6. Needless to say I got grounded…

Answer #3

Definitely. Having a good attitude and feeling good about yourself and your life has an impact on how you perform at school or anything for that matter. If you’re focused and confident and feeling happy, you tend to perform better.

Answer #4

Being sad or depressed can definitely affect how you do in school. If your mind is clouded with sadness, then the last thing you probably want to be doing is school work. It’s gets really hard to concentrate. Depression also drains you emotionally and physically, so you end up being too tired to even bother doing the work, or you just have a lack of motivation. There’s a whole long list of how it can affect your school work, but the first step to recovery is to find out what’s causing the sadness or depression. What’s the trigger? Then find ways to solve it. Not avoid it. Getting a therapist/ psychologist helps. And lots of exercise also helps.
