Is it ok for Christians to have hand tattoos of the cross?

Answer #1

U can put cross tattoos anywhere :-)

Answer #2

I wondered that too , i dont know if God would like it , but i think im gonna .

Answer #3

I don’t see the point of it

Answer #4

‘Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:28’ Not if you are really true to your faith. Of course people tend interpret these passages whichever way fits them best, but as far as I can see it says ‘nor print any marks upon you’ and I’m pretty sure a tattoo is a printed mark. Regardless of it being a cross or not.

Answer #5

I don’t really believe that if God were real, he would ‘abandon’ somebody because they got a tattoo. Especially a tattoo expressing their faith/love for him. If you want the tattoo, get it. Though think twice about hand tattoos… pretty permanent stuff there haha.

Answer #6

I think it’s fine to get a tattoo..it’s what’s in your heart that God cares about!

Answer #7

Gods not gonna ‘abandon’ you like someone said, but its still a sin. Your body belongs to God, therefore its a sin to mess with it. But having said that Im still getting a tattoo, because I only live once.

Answer #8

Also wearing or having crosses is almost an insult to Jesus, its not a Christian thing, its Catholic.

Answer #9

Not on the back of you or on your feet or ankles because it is seen as disrespective. placing it on the back part of your body is seen as your putting yourself first and placing Jesus behind you. on your feet is like your walking on him and his near the dirty ground and feet are seen as dirty.

Answer #10

I wouldn’t just because God made us without any marks and thats the way we should die … our body is just for now , this is not our body this is gods body :) plus God made us in his image .. and he doesn’t have any marking on his bodies …

Answer #11
  • oops he doesn’t have any markings on his Body not bodies c(=
Answer #12

** and yes its a sin

Answer #13

catholic is christian :/

Answer #14

If we followed Old Testament law to the letter, we would still be stoning rebellous children. I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with Christians having tattoos. It really depends on the state of your heart when you decide to get one. If you are getting one because you are being rebellious or if you are trying to make your parents mad, it’s not a good reason.

Answer #15

Do what you want to do! If you want a tattoo, then have it made. I would not make one on my hand if I was still in school, or still depending on what other people was thinking of me. People are weird as you may know, but if you don’t care about that either, then go ahead :) Here in Norway, one of the most important and famous newsreaders on tv have tattoos on his hands and on his neck. I think it looks kind of cool; him sitting in a grey suit, being very seriuos, and you see the tattoo on his neck and hands :D

Answer #16

THE FAC THAT YOU WONDERED THAT TOO TELLS THAT YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT ‘S GOD POINT OF VIEW. IF I’M RIGHT, WITH NO INTENTION TO MEDDLE IN OTHER PEOPLE’S AFFAIRS, TAKE A LOOK TO Leviticus 19:28. HOPE IT HELPS…

Answer #17

Whether it is a sin or not, Jesus died for our sins so that we don’t have to live for the laws of the old testament. Isn’t your motive or reason behind doing whatever you do most important? Afterall, Jesus says that our actions should come from love and motive. Personally, I think it would be awesome for Christains to feel free to have tattoos, it would break the stereotype. As long as Christains still live for Jesus and love, are they being hypocritical? Especially, when if you get a tattoo of a cross, showing your affection for your faith. Is that not so?

Answer #18

Not as far as Im concerned. Christians are followers of Christ, Catholics follow Mother Mary etc.

Answer #19

how is it an insult? dont catholics wear roseries all the time.. that has a cross. and priests wear them too.

Answer #20

that is not true. U r to worship Jesus. Pray to Mother Mary. i dont think Mother Mary will be the one to save u from ur sins

Answer #21

Its like using Gods name in vain, and like I said, Catholics do it, but my Christian religion does not.

Answer #22

No it is not ok to put tattoos on your body. God does not wish for us to desecrate our bodies. Our bodies is God’s temple that we must take care of and nurture with His Word’s. His Son Jesus Christ dwells within our hearts and works in there then moves within our spirits then our souls towards the outside of our bodies. I do not think Jesus would approve of something like that. Jesus never had any tattoos on His body.

If what God says in the Bible about putting on your body is unjust then do not do it. He commanded us to do that.

Answer #23

Praying to Mother Mary is not the same as praying to Jesus Christ. Mary was not a saint she only gave birth to the new King of Heaven. There was nothing special about her except for that one thing. I am not very familiar with the Catholic faith or anything. I am a Pentecostal and we take praying to others who are mere idols and molten figures very seriously.

Answer #24

CHRISTANS FOLLOW THE CHRIST WHEREVER HE GOES, TAKE HIM AS PERFECT EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW (APOCALIPSE 14:1-4). ROMAN CATHOLICS ACCEPT THE POPE AS JESUS REPRESENTATIVE ON EARTH, BUT IT DOESN’T SEEM TO ME THAT ACCORDING TO THE POPE’S DREES, GROOMING AND WAY OF LIFE HE FOLLOWS THE CHRIST AS HIS EXAMPLE, NEITHER THE CHURCHES AND THEIR FURNITURES DO THAT.

Answer #25

JOHN 17:3

Answer #26

BUT WHAT IF THE LORD JESUS HATED THE SIGN OF THE CROSS, WOULD IT STILL BE A LOVING ACT TO WEAR IT IN WHICHEVER FORM? (JOHN 4:22,23, emphsize the word TRUTH)

Answer #27

The only thing I heard you could do to express God in style is to wear cross necklaces (NEVER rosaries) and shirts that express God in a good manner.

Answer #28

I wonder why they cannot wear rosaries for?

Answer #29

Its technically a sign of hate and disbelief towards God(so i’ve heard)

Answer #30

rosaries are not meant to be worn..just sayin.

Answer #31

THE GOSPEL SHOWS JESUS PRAYED MANY TIMES. DID HE USE ROSARIES? (MATHEW 6:7: “But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words”
