Will my hair go orange if I do this?

I’ve only dyed my hair about 2 or 3 times before. first, I dyed it a dark brown ( my hair is a darkish kind of brown its naturally). then, I wanted to make it a little lighter by putting thick blonde hightlights in my hair ( but it wasnt a very bright blonde, it was like a light caramel. ) buttt I didnt like it so I went to my natural hair color again. (dark brown. ) so I decided that during the summer I wanted to go a really light brown and I told the beautician at the store that I wanted to go really light, but I also reminded her that I have a lot of orangish /red natural highlights in my hair so she told me to use this purple stuff that tones down the red and orange in my hair. I dyed it and my hair turned orange still! and now, before school starts, I want to dye my hair golden blond with low lights.

im realllyyy worried I’ll turn orange though because I’ve seen it happen to my friend who died her hair all blond from being a brunette and she was ORANGEEE. I dont want that. do you think I’ll go orange if I try it?

okay I just did this to my hair. you want to go very blond right? with some highlights?? first what ever color your hair is now, light brown, two toned what ever it maybe you will want to go to a SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY store..ALWAYS ask the people there to help. they should know what they are talking about…but I just recently bleached my hair. after you bleach the hair you can go any color you want..I just kept my bleached color I didnt add to it and I love it. get a bleaching kit from sallys. usually it inclueds the envelope of powder and some really VAUGE intructions. then you need to get a developer I get the 20 ounce one so that you always have it around to redo your roots. then you buy a toner for blonde hair..and you buy a little tube of red tone reducer. its usually purple colored. get a bowl and brush to mix it all up with. If you do nt want the bleached color and you want to dye over it pick out what color you want. then get a couple envelopes of really good moisturizing conditioner..they usually have some that they recommend for after the bleaching or any coloring process. get gloves..and your all set.

when you are home and ready to start your hair.
take your bowl, pour the activator (bleach powder) into the bowl and then pour the developer into the bowl but not the whole thing, put enough in it to make the mixture like a cake batter, kind of pasty. Stir it welland then add the red reducer to the bleach mix this will eliminate the red color or brassiness in your hair after its been bleached. when you start putting in on the hair begin applying it on the darkest part of your hair first, so if thats your roots then start there, if its the ends start there because where ever its darkest is where it will take the longest to lighten. (I didnt do this my first time and it came out soo two toned) soo do it…apply generous amounts to your whole head starting at the darkest spots and then to the lighter parts of your hair…BTW it will burn your head..it stings when the bleach is on your head..its not too bad, it just feels like and indian sunburn haha…if you want to speed the bleach process up you can add a blow dryer..but I would just relax and watch it turn blonde in a mirror…it wont take that long..you can easily see the results so when you see the desired color, go wash out the bleach in the shower..DO NOT GET IN YOUR EYES it hurts!! then dry your hair and if there is any orange spots add the toner to where it is too orange. Soak that part of your hair in the toner, just like you would shampoo..only put it where needed tho. keep it in for about ten to fifteen mins. then rinse..then dry…then start to apply desired color. start at the roots adn work to the bottom..keep in for 25-30 mins and rinse…DEEP DEEP DEEP condition your hair..even keep the conditioner on for 30 mins let your hair soak up the moisture because it will need it after the bleach process…then rinse and dry and enjoy your light hair…I would strongly recommend if you are going light or bleach blond to keep your color strong and bright and not brassy get “shiny silver ultra” shampoo from sallys. its conditioning shampoo it eliminates yellow and brassy tones for white, grey or bleached hair…it enhances the blonde color. if the toner does not help get all the orange out this shampoo will if you use it everyday. it gradually takes out the orange…I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

GOOOD LUCK!

You say the stylist suggested you use some purple stuff to tone down orange and yellow hi-lites? If you have your hair colored blonde and it comes out a bit too brassy or with an orangish tint, purple pigment would be the right thing to use. The stylist was not mistaken. Now why your hair still turned orange, is the question.

Golden blond with low-lites would be very pretty.

Are you going to go to a salon to have this done?

The reason your friend turned orange is because the product was removed too soon before it had time to get through the red/orange stage of lightening.

I think you will be ok, just make sure you go to a salon. Maybe try a different stylist.
