guys are so weird

Ok well my ex and I ended on really bad terms and all of a sudden out of the blue he apologizes to me,and asks when we could ever be friends again, even though when I told him I wanted to take a BREAK so I could move on too, he stopped talking to me completely. And he said he pushed me away because he no matter what he does even when he trys not to he still loves me…HUH????? if he loved me why would he have said all of those mean things to me?? and ifhe still loves me, how does he have a girlfriend now that I moved away. What does this mean??? HELP what IS HE SAYING HERE
