What does it mean when a guy offers to buy you a drink?

As much as i believe in safety first and all that, I dont think my bartender or my relatives are going to be dru.gging me… Perhaps a little perspective?

My Mum’s cousin spiked her drink. At my Aunt’s wedding. For absolutely no reason.
