Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny

Are there any fans out there? IF so, how much do you like the show?

Me, personally, I think GSD is one of the best animes out there. Story line was a little less though out than Gundam SEED, but they managed to balance that out pretty well with epic battles and a larger variety of vehicles involved. Plus, the conspiracies were a little more than a glorified version of ancient race wars. A little less obvious.

Has anyone read or written fan fiction for it? There’s a few I enjoy, but it’s hard to find any parallel universe stories, stories involved in that same universe at the same time, but with different(generally original) individuals and at different places. I can say that after having been unsatisfied, I started writing my own, and am nearly finished. Mine is actually one of the few that is rewritten 5 different times each chapter before posted, ensuring ALMOST novel quality material(not quite there yet, lol).

Can someone please tell me what the deal with anime is? Why is it so popular? Really I wanna know.

I think for the same reason any other show is popular. I don’t just go around watching whatever anime I see, and I enjoy far more live action series than animes. I just have found a couple whose stories are pretty good. Like my sister says, it doesn’t matter if it’s anime, cartoon, or live action, if it has a good plot, it’s worth watching.

I think what the older of this generation have a problem with is that they see anime as cartoons, and associate cartoons with kid’s shows. Which, until about 1995, was correct, for the most part.
