What would be a good time to take my mediciation?

The doctor put me on this prescription for anxiety/chest pain, and i took one last night, and i actually fainted when I made it to my bed, my husband had to pull me onto the bed, and get me dressed and everything. The warning label does say that it will make you drowsy. I could take it at night, but my anxiety happens when I’m awake.

Is it a preventative medication or are you supposed to take it when an attack comes on? If it’s preventative, and it makes you that drowsy, take it right before bed… it doesn’t matter if your attacks happen in the day, a preventative medication takes a little time to start working.

if it affects you in the day, I would take it in the morning. You may just some time to get used to it though. I know a lot of people who found they were very tired when they first started taking anti-anxiety medication. Did your doctor mention anything about this to you? It may be a good idea to enquire about it also, because if this medication isnt working for you, there are others they can put you on.

If it’s one of the antidepressants that works on generally reducing anxiety (like Colleen said, if it is a preventative medication) then it’s fine to take it at night. If it is a medication you take as needed, then it’s not going to work. You’re going to have to call your doctor up and ask for a new one.

thanks, i was unsure of when to take it, and yes, its supposed to stop my anxiety in its tracks, ive been stressed, and its started putting chest pains on me, and the doctors want me to take this for about a month, to make sure that it gets rid of the stress and anxiety.
