Good crock pot?

Hi,

I am not too good at cooking, but I hear the crock pot makes it easier. Just throw it in and let it cook for hours, right? But what is a good brand or model of crockpot to buy at a reasonable price?

Crock Pot is one brand, the generic term is slow cooker.

Certain meals come out really good from slow cookers. They are good for slowly cooking cheap tough cuts of meat.

I like slow cookers with a high setting hot enough to boil water. Most slow cookers can not do this. Cookers that can reach boiling are good for cooking beans. Also, some slow cookers have timers so if you have to leave it longer than the cooking time it won’t overcook. If you are going to cook whole chickens or turkeys look for an oval rather than round cooker.

If you really want to save time then use the crock pot bags they make. It’s kind of a plastic bag you line the crock pot with and then you pull it out and throw it away…no cleanup :)

It really doesn’t matter what kind you get, they all do their job. There are some that you can program to come on at different times and they will automatically adjust their temperature. But all crock pots will do a good job of just cooking. Make sure you read the directions on what you want to cook so you know what temp. to use and how long to cook it.

hamilton beach go to wal mart they have some really good ones good luck and you cant cook everything in a crock pot

william sonoma ricden slow cooker. I live in the uk but they have it in the us I think too
