Going back to a relationship

I know some relationship questions are boring, so I’ll make this quick. I broke up with a guy after cheating on him back in February. Then my life shattered into a million pieces a few weeks later after I was attacked by a male. All during spring and summer I’ve cleaned up my life and have been stable and doing fantastic in my education. I just talked to my ex for the first time in 7 months on thursday. Things definatly weren’t over when I ended it. I apologized for cheating on him and he wants to see me again and talk out what happened. And hook up. I don’t know what to do, I still care about him, but I don’t want him to just use me, I want back what we had x 10. Is getting back together a good idea?

Its called breaking the cycle. You are in a circle right now walking round and round you are at a point right now where you can forge a completely new and better path for yourself or you can go through the circle again. Once you go back to your ex, cheating will occur, then you will be atttacked by a male, and the circle will continue. In other words, you need to move on.
