Is pain and suffering "godly" feelings?

What do you feel when you see some body being hurt, disgraced or even seeing someone crying. Can we say thats Godly feelings?

Answer #1

I would not say that is God be cause God is Love. He Would not hurt his children. He definately would not digrace them. That’s the devil. He would shame all and disgrace all just to try to keep us from getting to God. Them may be convicted about something they have done. But what we must do is pray for them

Answer #2

I feel hurt inside for them and I pray God will comfort them in their situation, that God’s will be done in their lives, and if they’re not saved (have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savour), that they will be saved for HIS honor and glory before it’s too late….for I know He desires that none should perish.

Answer #3

This brings back to the tri-omni problem or the problem of evil.

Assume God is omnibenevolent (all good), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipotent (all powerful).

There is evil in the world. If God is omniscient he knows about this evil, if God is omnipotent he has the power to eliminate it, if god is omnibenevolent God must overcome evil he knows of if he is able. The mere existance of evil can be considered a contradiction of God (assuming a tri-omni one).

Answer #4

It is said that suffering is part of God’s plan for us, as Jesus suffered before dying on the cross. So, in a way, it is “Godly” to feel pain.

“Suffer little children and come unto me.” “I promise you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
