Given my situation, should I get a GED or graduate from highschool?

I have gotten up to grade 11 and I very much dislike school. I believe I am well above average with my english skills but well below average with my math skills (I probably have a grade 10 mathematic knowledge at best, maybe even grade 9 level) and with english I am definitely okay. In order to graduate highschool I will need one more semester, and to pass a senior test involving all subjects. I am worried because like I said, I hate math, and I am so tired of doing math. The way I see it is, if I’ll need to pass a test to graduate from highschool PLUS a semester of credits, I may as well just do the GED test…I do want to go to college, but highschool just stresses me out and frustrates me (mainly the math)

I think that some people need a change. I also think that some kids or Adults are so smart that they get bored in school and therefore they get labeled as a “slacker” but they were just not pushed enough. a lot of people won’t learn subjects as well over a period of one year. Some people want to learn it all at once or in three months instead of a period of 4 years. If you are going to an ivey league college or you are an athlete mostlikely you like school and like the rate that your learning there, and you probably have an easier time learning every subject. Some people learn at different rates and I know that the Divine Creator(God) created all of our minds different therefore we all learn differently so for some seeking an ivey league college go to high school as long as you “want” but kids that know what they want and really cant take that much more of high school go for your ged it does not make you any less of a student just someone who did not want to wait! Or someone that could not take the slower pace!

You need to see if the college you want to go to will accept a GED some do and some don’t personal I would get diploma they say the GED is the same but its not and the GED test has math I know who would of guessed plus if you go to college your going to wish your had that extra year of math to practice

Answer #3

I know it sounds like a good idea to drop out and just get it over with but, a diploma is so worth the extra wait. GEDs are supposed to equal high school diplomas but many future jobs of yours won’t hold it to the same height as a diploma. You will also have many more doors open to you if you have a diploma. Believe me almost everyone gets frustrated with school but, try to pull through and get it done. After you graduate you can do whatever you set your heart on!

Answer #4

You should graduate and get your diploma. If you want to go to college you’ll likely have to take math anyways. And the GED requires some math, so why not just suck it up and do it? I bet there is some kid of math tutor availible or some sort of math lab where you could go to get help.
