Can someone give me information about dreadlocks?

I kind of want to get some put into my hair but I’m not sure how to take care of them and if they will be nasty. Also some pictures of white girls with dreads would be awesome so I can take it to a stylist.

it’s just knotted hair. you can do it yourself or have someone do it I’m not sure if stylists will do it for you.

I know sometimes they fall out, my friend had about three come out each about a few months apart. Dreadlocks are kind of a permanent hairstyle.

If had them, theyre a lot of work to maintain. Took all day to get them in, there’s a lot of back combing and palm rolling, aha, and elastics. I loved mine and I miss them from time to time.

Leaving long hair to its own devices by not brushing or cutting the hair will encourage it to tangle together as it grows, leading to twisted, matted ropes of hair known as dreadlocks. The latter method is typically referred to as the neglect method.

There are a lot of videos on Youtube about how to do them yourself. I have one , I wash it everyday just how I do my normal hair. If you’re whole head has dreads though you should probably only wash them once a week. You should still shower daily though. And be sure you actually want them though because once you do it there really isn’t any going back unless you shave you’re head.
