Why give God credit?

I’m always told, when bad things happen, don’t blame God.. it’s not his fault.. Sooo, when good things happen, why should we thank Him? If he’s not responsible for the bad stuff, why should we give Him credit for the good? These aren’t rhetorical questions by the way. :)

Answer #1

I agree. I find it sad that when medical teams and doctors work day and night to save someones lives…the families give God credit instead of the people who actually saved their loved ones.

Answer #2

Maybe it’s out of habit and they do intend to thank the medical team, or the firefighter, or the pedestrian. I say “thank god that didn’t happen” sometimes but that doesn’t mean I am literally giving him the credit for what other people did. In the end, all that matters is that they know what they did to help, and that the person thanks them, at least in their heart.

I personally feel that if I did something heroic, I wouldn’t even need a thank you, just the fact that I came through to do it is good enough for me :) that’s just me though.

Answer #3

I don’t get it either. Why are there so many children starving, and dying? Why are so many people getting cancer? If “God” loved us, why would he let us die for no reason? Christians say because it is just “their time to go”…thousands of children dying from starvation….because it’s their time to go? That doesn’t make any sense. If bad things happen to people, some say it’s because “God” is punishing them….what about when bad things happen to people that have done nothing wrong, good people? Why is “God” punishing them?

People who have cancer, suddenly get well…it’s all because of “God”! (not medicine!) Someone dies of cancer, it was just their time to go, and “God” wanted them to be with him up in heaven. (so he kills them?) Wtf?

Answer #4

It’s really hard to have a relationship with God when there are so many questions I have unanswered. But it’s like someone telling you not to blame the president for the bad things he is responsible for, but recognizing his good deeds. Someone just told me.. ‘’Don’t blame God for that, people always blame God’’ Granted, I probably could have prevented it, had God given me a bigger brain and encouraged me to use it more. :P

Answer #5

cause people want to

Answer #6

No offense to anyone… wow, just wow… kinda stunned to what I have read… I am not a religious person, not here to change your thoughts or anything… but have we forgotten the one thing we were all taught? Who are we to question god or what & how he does things?!

Maybe, when the medical staff was about to loose the patient on the operating table yet a miracle happened, god placed a thought in the doctor’s mind to try it out to help save the patient…just maybe that is why they survived? Or worse…when the doctor tried all they could yet still couldnt manage to save the patient…maybe god had other plans for them…there is a reason why people say that…you cant run from is meant to happen…:(

Do any of us know what is god’s plans for whom or when or why? No…Are any of us perfect all the time to be judging anyone for that matter, especially a higher being as god?!

Again, I am just shocked how we have all forgotten where we would be if when crossing the street & a car where swerving right for us yet missed was it the medical team that saved your life, and no one can say that it never happened to you before because clearly we have all been in that sort of situation at any given time in our lives…and if not that particular way then maybe while cutting something for dinner especially while the knife slips & misses our toe….ever wonder how that seems to happen? Yet you still question the miracles of god & choose to judge….o^0

I am no saint nor sinner, but I know that the first thing I was taught was to believe in god…that god exists & I have witnessed the miracles of life & death…I dont question…I know my faith and where I stand in my faith…I dont believe in it 100% because every religion has its real & phony practices…but I would never ever question why god does what god does…not telling you or anyone else on her that you all should too, just explaining my view on the situation.

I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone, no intention of doing that just explained the way I see it!

Peace & love to all♥

Answer #7

What i dont get is when a person talks to themselves they get classified as mental… But when they pray its okay… what are they doing? Talking? But to who? No one, because theyr closing their eyes and imagining some superior form who blew into a pile of sand and created a person? Why is that not classified as mental?

Answer #8

Whether or not you believe in a higher power, you have to admit this world is falling apart. This is largely due to money, politics, greed, religion used against rather than for people, etc. Wouldn’t it be nice to believe in something? To truly feel like someone has your back? I believe in God with all my heart. We have destroyed this world, we deserve all the credit for that. God deserves credit for giving doctors the brains to save our loved ones and for those few people that still manage to make a difference. How long can a parent give their all to spoiled children that not only don’t love them, but refuse to admit their parents exist, before that parent says, “You are on your own.”

Answer #9

Not everyone believes in God though. I don’t.

Answer #10

It helps some people make it through, when they have things they cant come up with answers for they thank god, and say it is all in gods hands. Maybe out of fear too.

Answer #11

No, but what I”m saying is, Why do people expect you to thank God for what you have and what he’s done for you, but want you to ignore the bad things He allows to happen..

Answer #12

Angel I understand that honey…I dont blame you or anyone on here…we all have our faith & beliefs sweetie….I do blame dirty politics…which is why I quit law school when I did…i blame dirty politics for all…for starvation, for the people whom sit there on their nice tight @sses & get paid billions while capable of driving their lazy @ss to work yet need a limo plus a driver plus a nice fat check to live in luxury while the people in their country sit there dying of starvation & lack of medicine…who continue to starve, yet they sit there with all that money & diamonds just to go & purchase weapons of mass destruction…names are not needed…for what to kill more innocent poor civilians…men women & children for what a stupid cause…but does anyone blame those fat @sses doing all of this no…but r@ping, m*rdering and stealing more from the poor to collect more for their greed is so much more important so hell lets just put the blame on faith and a higher being…rather then looking in the dirty politicians eyes & asking them why are our children dying of starvation, why are they dying of lack of medicine, why are they dying of vicious illnesses….you know what the answers are…NO COMMENT!!! sad but true….if anyone is looking for someone or something to blame…look at your government…I have & frankly I am disgusted…but in no way shape or form is that god’s fault! (that is the point i was trying to make in all of this) ♥

Answer #13

because people feel that if they doubt god, or get angry with god for the bad things they fear going to hell, people are very wierd.

Answer #14

I understand where your coming from… :)

Answer #15

Answer #20

the modern worls acts like their to good for god, i honestly dont think we decierve such a beautiful land, and i dont really beilive in 2012, but still, i see why god would ever wipe us all out, and at the last minutie we’d say to god “we can change” but the truth is no, we cant. granted not everyone takes advantage of this world, but what with all the nukes, and liter, and violence. its no wonder sometimes it seems like god doesnt help. we are practiclly spoiled and really taking advantage… and excuse my bad spelling, im no genious or whatever

Answer #21

Thnx Moe…I am just being honest…i can be funny too smx…:P

Drew…I have to agree…:(

Answer #22

Not everyone gives God credit. Only people who believe in a higher power that controls things gives God credit. And why not blame God? That is simple. If you believe God is both omnipotent and loving, then God cannot be controlling bad things. Or God has a reason beyond which we cannot understand. Because if God is truly omnipotent, then God cannot be loving because bad things happen. And if God is loving, then God cannot be omnipotent because bad things happen (and a loving God would never allow it). So, if you really have to believe in a God who is both, you have to believe in a God who is not allowing bad things to happen (or again, the ‘it’s beyond your understanding’ which has been used by magic men/priests/preachers/ since the beginning of time). Oh, and if you believe in a loving and omnipotent God, then you must give that God credit (otherwise what is the point of even having a God?). I personally wont give credit to a God who will not take credit for the bad stuff. People spout reason because it gives them comfort. There is no good reason 1 in 5 female children are sexually abused as children (in the U.S. odds are that this number is much higher in other places), there is no good reason millions of Jews were killed in extermination camps, there is no good reason children are turned into soldiers, there is no good reason women watch their children starve to death, that millions of people become homeless due to war, there are no good reasons for half the crap that goes on in the world. A loving and omnipotent God wouldnt allow it, a loving and omnipotent God wouldnt have created humans to be like this in the first place, what to learn a lesson? God’s omnipotent! God could have instilled the lesson and saved a step. Also, what type of love allows you to send your children to hell? I dont think most mothers of serial killers would send their kids to everlasting torture, and God supposedly does that for stupid stuff that God could have prevented in the first place (being omnipotent and all). Uhm, give me a break.

Answer #23

but think, god allowed illnesses into the world in the first place. This would be like me poisoning my cat so I could give it medication to cure it. Kinda sick if you want to look at it that way.

Answer #24

touche

Answer #25

You should thank GOD and give him the credit.. think about it. This is the way i see it.. I asked GOD for strength, and he gave me difficulties to make me strong, I asked GOD for wisdom and he gave me problems to solve. I asked GOD for prosperity and he gave me brain and brawn to work. I asked GOD for courage and he gave me danger to overcome..

Answer #26

i totally agree with u on ur point here. its awesome. it makes perfect sense.

Answer #27

Simply because He is the one who created us.

Answer #28

Sigh. Does religion have to destroy all original thought. At least dont simply copy and paste rhetoric.

Answer #29

I love this quote so you can back off okay? :)

Answer #30

Then put it in quotation marks…

Answer #31

Or you can not worry about it. :)

Answer #32

seriously? why do u believe that? wheres ur proof? jw. i thot u no we came from a thing called evolution. (proven)

Answer #33

god didn’t allow it….satan created it

Answer #34

evolution’s not 100% proven yet actualy.. they’re still missing pieces and when they see that, they just put in some dotted lines “connecting” the evidence. and also, if we evolved then, then why aren’t we STILL evolving? I’ve seen darwin’s “theory” and given it some thoughts…when he said those birds evolved well…they’re still just birds, not some new species. sorry if this is offending in ANY way, that’s the last thing i want to do….just throwing in my thought on it

Answer #35

Well if god created everything why did he create Satan? Why did he allow him to “create” it :S Do you realise how STUPID & FAKE that sounds ? I rather not put my life in the hands of an IMAGINAREY person. Its stupid & unrealistic.

Answer #36

God allowed satan to create it

Answer #37

Satan is the one to blame for that…he put evil into the world, not god.

Answer #38

no one ‘expects’ you to. that’s why there are many different sides to religion or non-religion and so forth

Answer #39

god created satan and he was an angel at first and his name was originally “lucifer” but then he truned on god thinking that he wanted more of the power so when god created the earth lucifer came down as a serpant that god had turned him into for disobeying and convinced eve and then adam to eat the apple off the tree and then god saw that people did not disserve this world if they’d disobey him and satan became the kind of evil…and more stuff but im not writing the whole story down.

Answer #40

sorry thats not a very clear discription…i wanted to shorten it :”)

Answer #41

true we wil never be able to prove it exactly since it takes millions of yrs to occur so yeah its a theory but its a much better possibility than humans just popping out of nowhere u no

Answer #42

and he said ill huff & ill puff.

Answer #43

“when it comes to bull sht… big time major league bull sht!!! you have to stand it all…of the all time champion of false promises and exagerated claims…. religion…….think aobut it… religion has actually convinced people!! that theres an invisible man..living in the sky! who watches everything you do..every minute of everyday!! and the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do!.. and if you do any of these ten things he has a special place.. full of fire! and smoke! and burnning and torture and anguish!! where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever till the end of time!! …………………………but he loves you?…he loves you…….he loves you and he needs money!!!!! he always needs money!! hes all powerful, all perfect, all knowing, and all wise … some how.. he just cant handel money!!!!.. religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more.. now you talk about a good bull sht story.. HOLY SHT!!!”

Answer #44

We’re not asking for a story. We all know how it happened. What you fail to see is that if God is all-knowing, then God knew what would happen. Thus God created Lucifer knowing that Lucifer would cause illnesses. If I had a baby knowing the baby was going to grow up to be a serial killer, it’s my fault when the kid goes around killing people.

Answer #45

And putting a smily face at the end of your sentence is supposed to be what, passive aggressive? Now now, do unto others and all. Shouldnt you be practicing what you preach? And you really shouldnt use others words as your own. It’s called plagiarism. I.e. stealing. Surely there’s something in the bible against that.

Answer #46

We are still evolving. Surely you’ve heard of antibiotic resistant bacterial strains forming (that would be evolution). And ‘birds’ are not a single species. There are several different species of birds. You may have seen the theory, but it’s hard to take you seriously when you dont even have a fundamental understanding of basic science. Seriously, just because something scientific is beyond your understanding, doesnt make it magic.

Answer #47

God created Satan knowing what Satan would do.

Answer #48

because God knows, as I do, that the turning towards is so worth all of the turning away from. Jesus, I hate having to explain this stuff every other day. You see Ty, God could not give free will to just a select few he had to give free will to all of his creation. Even his Angels, so that explains the whole Lucifer thing. We could go in to Judeo-Christian Genisis stuff where Man chooses wisdom over A relationship with God, which in turn creates cause and effect because with wisdom comes the realization that we are both human and mortal, apart from our power source which is God. And then the reintroduction to that power source through Jesus Christ. Or we could talk about synchronicity and how Gods love weaves a magnificant tapestry of love through the chaos and cruelity that derives from the will of man. To sum it up, God does the absolute best he can with what his people give him to work with. He gave us free-will so we would come back to him, then when we were still struggling with a relationship with him, he manifested his love for creation in human form as Jesus Christ and suffered even to the point of death, so that we nay have life. And if it were only you left on earth he would have done it anyway. You Ty, are the one sheep he would leave the 99 for. Now, even if that is not true, wouldnt it feel nice to have a God love you that much?

Answer #49

and if all of that were true, then we wouldnt need his help. Just like the girl who drank her own pi$$ in a German Concentration camp, who thanked God for the nourishment, I thank God He gave us people of her strength that can share there faith in A Good God in the midst of human tragedy and suffering. Humans create suffering. God did not give ud free will to hurt each other, he gave us free will to love him and choose him. Just like we do with our own kids. Do you want your kids to love you because they have to? God is Love. He is the positive energy from which comes all good things. The best proof there is is the fact that people are starving all over the world, and yet we have grain silo’s rotting with grain. That is not Gods will, that is man’s will. Gods will is the energy in the wheat. I am getting tired. I am never trying to convert anyone, just sharing. :)

Answer #50

I give God credit for creating someone as beautiful as you. :) and everything he ever wanted you to be or have he gave to you at the foundation of the universe!

I love the story of the 3 year old is so excited that he is going to have a new brother soo, and then when the baby is born on the first night he rushes over to the crib and asks; "so, do you remember what he looks like?"

lol, I cant remember what scientist it was who said that when we were born we new everything about everything, but then slowly since birth it all gets covered up, neat.

Hugs

Answer #51

Aw, well thank you. And that story is really cute. :)

Answer #52

Mine?

Answer #53

Well put, Ty.

Answer #54

well yes, i was talking about on the human level. evolution is caused by mutations in the genes, so yes technically in todays world we are evolving. but i was talking about the human level. but the mutations in the genes arent always a good thing, most of the time there are many cons with it.

Answer #55

yes haha i shouldve said that.

Answer #56

Sigh. You do realize God set this up right? It’s not like one day magically people chose wisdom. God created a particular being that was going to choose wisdom (because, after all, God created everything). Another human (not fond of breaking rules) in that position may not have broken the rules. God knew it would happen. God created it to happen.

Answer #57

alright, heres my thoughts on it. in answer to your questions, i think we should give God the credit bcuz He is the One who allowed the good things to happen. He could have let a kid die on the hospital table, but instead He pulled that kid through and let him live the rest of his life. a lot of people have trouble with religion bcuz we dont live in a perfect world. no, we dont! but God didnt make the world imperfect, we did. yes, He knew that we would screw up, and we did horribly. but He loves us so much that He offers us forgiveness and lets us continue to live in this world, imperfect tho it may be. i give God the credit when someone is saved from death. let me give you an example: about 2 weeks ago, we had a huge storm pass through my town. it was right as school was letting out, and all the kids were getting on a bus. lightning struck a 12-year-old 5th grader and killed him. he was airlifted to a bigger hospital, and while i knew they were trying everything, i knew he was dead. but i got the news that he is now alive and doing better. he was brought back! as soon as i heard that a kid had been hit, i started praying. and i prayed hard bcuz it hit me hard, like, “why would God let lightning hit this little kid??” i started praying for the kid, and for his family (his twin brother had been just 5 feet away from him when he was struck), and i started praying for the doctors. that is why i praise God when something good happens, such as someone being saved in a hospital. i prayed for the doctors, that God would move through them and save that little boy. and they did, but only through God’s power. the kid was dead, only God could have brought him back. and while we now have some awesome medical facilities and wonderful tools to help us regain and keep our health, who gave us the ideas that we might be able to have xrays and mris and casts for setting bones, the numerous, numerous things that help us in our everyday life, whether we realize it or not. God gave us wisdom to work and invent make things to help ourselves. but we only have this wisdom through God, and that i why i give Him honor and praise and thanks.

Answer #58

ive had these same questions, and while i dont have all the answers, this is the best i can offer :-)

Answer #59

‘evolution is caused by mutations in the genes’. Please. Please. Go get educated about a subject before you attempt to discuss it. Mutations are one way evolution works. You’re right, positive mutations are very very rare. You have heard of survival of the fittest? That is what evolution is based on. Even on the human level. (Yes, unbelievably, we too are also evolving, we’re not bacteria so it isnt as obvious)

Answer #60

“God” created Satan, KNOWING that Satan would do all these bad things…so it’s “Gods” fault. If he “loves” us, why does he not protect us? People get hit by a bus…why didn’t God stop it because he loves us? Let me guess, “It was their time to go”… ¬_¬

Answer #61

lol, I agree Ty…

Answer #62

Ty you mentioned that if your child was a serial killer you would be responsible, okay you’re responsible. but what would you do about it? What do you expect him to do? We create the chemicals that cause the diseases, we make the weapons that kill people, so why don’t we take responsibility. Why blame God? Is it his fault because he favored us enough to give us free will. We all have the same brains and abilities - we can be as inventive as Edison, as faithful as Pope John Paul, as peaceful as the Dalai Lama, as smart as Einstein, bring people together like MLK Jr, or as devisive as Manson. What we make of our life is up to each one of us because of free will, otherwise can you imagine, we would just be lifeless robot-like shells of people. Don’t fight it so hard.

Answer #63

Yes, he gave us free will from the beginning. He wants us to have these conversations. :) He is hoping we choose his love.

Answer #64

So He Can Ring You :D

Answer #65

Let me ask you a question respectfully. Name one thing that God has caused to happen that hurt us? God created everything to be perfect in the beginning. We chose to disobey Him which is called sin. God gave us a choice to follow Him. We chose to follow our own ambitiion. Think about all of the bad things in the world. All the hurt that goes on. All of it is caused by humans and our choices. World hunger is caused by governments run by evil people. Women get abused by evil men. People get hurt by others because of the choices those people doing the hurting make. God gave us that free will so we would have a choice whether we wanted to love Him and serve Him or not. Sadly, most people tend to serve themselves. God sees our plight and gave us His Son Jesus Christ to die for us. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” What that means is, the moment we sinned we became mortal and evil. God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty which is death. Jesus’ sacrifice is the only one sufficient to cover our sins. We can’t do it on our own. I hope this answers your question and if have more please don’t hesitate to ask me!

Answer #66

I kind of wish if it was ‘’they’re time to go’’ why God wouldn’t let them die peacefully in their sleep… instead of getting kidnapped, raped, tortured… car accidents, plane crashes, things that make the person scared to death and die slowly and painfully..

Answer #67

We didn’t chose to disobey Him, Adam and Eve did… is it not fair He judged us as a whole? Yes, women get hurt by evil men, but most people that are ‘’evil’’ are mentally ill…how many serial killers have been eventually diagnosed as a schitzo, bipolar, etc.. dr.ug addicts, the majority of them have something deeper going on that causes them to resort to dr.ugs in the first place.. ADHD, abuse, etc.

Answer #68

Well who did those things though? God? No. People did. God gave us free will and He won’t take that away. He allows certain things and it can change someone’s life. I lost a friend to substance abuse and God din’t stop it. It was his choice.

Its stupid & unrealistic.’’ makes you a very foolish person. As does to all people like this. I was not trying to cause an argument. I am telling you what is true. everyone always looks down on the whole religious scene…. Y? because people don’t want God. and in the last days (which we are in) people are going to be pushing God further and further away. it’s happening everywhere right now. it is a huge work or evil. I know you and everyone reading this and a lot of the world doesn’t believe all this but just wait. the Lord is soon to return and come back for His people, the ones that have been baptized in Jesus name (washed in the blood of the Lamb) and filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues. and the ones who aren’t will hear God say ‘’Depart from me ye workers of inequity, for I never knew you.’’ ( and right now ur prolly thinking well i know a lot of good good people out there who will be saved becuz they are good people. well Hey god doesn’t work like that, He looks for faithfulness and who’s been washed in the blood and filled with the Holy Ghost) go to an Apostolic, ONE GOD, JESUS NAME Church and keep going and you will understand everything and if you want to, you will b saved (= I hope this helped some people (= ♥♥♥♥♥

Answer #75

Do you mean that Lucifer was the “firsborn of all creation” stated at Collosians 1:15?

Answer #76

In what way?

Answer #77

We can not blame the inventor of the knife, if there is such one, just because some people do not use knives in a good way and kill others. In the meantime God has good reasons, explained in the Bible, to allow people and Satan and demons to do bad things or to “use the knife in a bad way”.

Answer #78

The fact that you ask the question shows the subject interest you and you want to find the answer, wich is very commendable. But we can not blame the inventor of the knife, if there is such one, just because some people do not use knives in a good way and kill others. In the meantime (and only in the meantime) God has good reasons, explained in the Bible, to allow people and Satan and demons to do bad things or to “use the knife in a bad way”. But we can be certain that God did create the good things in universe.

Answer #80

aww well that’s to bad )= I wish everyone wud He is really and very much alive in spirit and in truth. (=

Answer #81

Well in my opinion, if you love someone UNCONDITIONALLY you are going to protect them and not let anything bad happen to them. He apparently has the “power” to do ANYTHING….so, it’s just stupid, that he sits back and watches someone get tortured to death if he loves us soo much, and has the power to stop it.

Answer #82

No sir, that scripture is talking about our Lrd Jesus Christ. here is heres some of the scriptures before the 15th verse (=

12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Answer #84

well God is the one who made the doctors save us.if there would be no God the would be no life and i bet u guys know dat

Answer #85

Franjobaby, that makes no sense.

Answer #86

Ok it’s because God is GOD!! It’s not his fault when you sin and mess up, but when something happens that’s because you had faith and trusted him for once!!!

Answer #87

Nice Chelsea, but Ty or anybody for that matter, will not believe in something they dont want to believe in, and they sure wont believe be persuaded if you refer to them as “foolish”, that wont win hearts and minds. LOL. We dont try to convert people. Instead we share with people if they would like us too, and then let them make up their own minds.

Answer #88

But if Jesus is the first born, then he was definetly BORN, not God himself who is eternal according to Psalms 90:2, with no beggining and no end….??? And if Jesus is the firstborn, wasn’t he the favorite son of God?

Answer #89

I preffer to read His letter sent to me, wich gives me time to meditate and digest His mesagge, don’t you agree?

Answer #90

But since we ‘ve got free will, we also have to be held responsables for our deeds. (Romans 14:10)

Answer #91

Nice phrasing moe214, He allows, not causes bad things to happen. Like a parent may allow his child to undergo a painfulloperation knowing at the end the re3sults will be better: Have you read the book of Job in the Bible?

Answer #92

But moe, if God had judged Adam and Eve right away we wouln’t have been here. That is why He temporarily allowed suffering. Remember that even Jesus had to suffer because of teh sin of Adam and Eve. Again, something had to be proven.(Job 1:9,10)

Answer #93

To ANGELEE: Sometimes someone having the power to prevent you from taking the wrong choice does not prevent you to do so, even he loves you dearly, because he might want for you to learn the lesson by yourself knowing he could revert any damage you get by trying, or in the case of Jesus, who wiilinly accepted to suffer in behalf of God and humankind, he wanted others to learn the lesson by the things he experienced. Isn’t it what the Bible says?,

Answer #94

ok so God made devil cause he wants to make us free.he make us to believe in him .he says i let u do anyting u want.but we all know that God is the best thing ever. i was reading to all stuff u guys wrote and i was like hello u guys ur talking about God in that way.he made u.he made ur hands legs and other stuff.he gives u ur food y cant u undersand

Answer #95

he can make u die and he can make u live. he is the power of everything

Answer #96

But if I choose to ‘not die’ when he wants me to, then where is my free-will? Religion involves belief. You believe God gave you your food, I believe the supermarket gave me mine. I have no intention of denying your beliefs, so why do you choose to mock mine?

God also gave us food-poisoning, so next time you get sick, maybe you should shop somewhere else. Try the supermarket ;).

Answer #97

If God didnt create evil and good, we would have no choice. We HAVE a choice. God gave doctors the ability to help others. EVerything that happpens has a purpose!

Answer #98

Well said Temptress! We are all entitled to our beliefs, no matter where their origin supposedly came from (eg. from God, from nature, etc). Preaching is okay in a way, but imposing one’s beliefs on another is another topic altogether.

I love hearing people say that those who don’t believe in God should go to hell. Who would those people be to make God’s mind up for him, haha?

Answer #99

Ahhh Alejanro That’s An Even Better Idea [: Atleast You Understand Me <3

Answer #100

I don’t know, I don’t read the Bible.. :) Why would I, I don’t believe in God, nor do I want to… In my opinion, the Bible is not real…I am not going to go into detail about all my reasons for thinking the Bible is fake…I just think it is.

Answer #101

I love my daughter unconditionally, but I still let her make mistakes. I still let her pay the consequences of those mistakes. I think that’s being a good mom. Giving my daughter everything and spoiling her, that teaches her nothing and in no way prepares her for the future. I see God as the ultimate parent & I believe he views us as his children. God isn’t giving us cancer because it’s our time. We’re getting cancer because we smoke too much, eat food laden with chemicals, our atmosphere is screwed (by our own doing), etc. And kids are dying of starvation, because their governments are so effing corrupt and steal the donated food for their own gain. These are corrupt times, humans got us into this and truly only humans can get us out. As much as I believe in God, I also believe he wants to see a change in us.

Answer #102

God is not the one who made doctores their parents did! and there is no God but there still is life but i’m willing to see how others who believe in Him think that cause i used to too

Answer #103

is there proof solid proof that there was satan and thats he’s trapped or something?

Answer #104

i used to believe in God but with the way my life was and still is getting worse and worse each day i don’t believe in any of it my parents are hindu and they brought us up as hindus but i don’t believe anything now why would God give 3 children to two parents that are rarely home and never tuck their children into bed or home to read a goodnight story or there when there children are afraid when theres a thunderstorm outside?? if there was a God he would have never given anything to my parents so i don’t believe in God if there was a God then i won’t have the parents that i have

Answer #105

Well did you choose to be born? No. God did. Did you choose to be born by your mother? No. Did you choose to be a Man? No. Did you choose to live in this era? No. Why didnt you happen to be one of the royalty people? Because it wasnt you who decided all this things. You could probably just had been a rat that mostly everyone hated because your dirty. So why do you have the right to choose when you die? Yes some people kill themselve because of depression or just simply because they dont know their purpose in life. And that was their will. And God let it, because he hate sin so much that he let us do them because of freewill. If we didn’t have any then whats the point in making us if we all worshiped him? Then we would be just plain robots, doing things because we were set that way. BUT No. God made us because he loves us. And he gave Jesus to all of us, in the hope that he can gain your love and aslo so we can all have eternal life to beat death itself. For satan Chelsea pretty much covered that. Satan created all the suffering, temptation, hatred, depression, sadness, pain, violence and anything that involves ruining other peoples lives to the full of ruining their own. God didn’t create it. God hated all that, so when you do think of the 10 commandments do you see anything that says. Hate your neighbour and show them your talents, skill and let them know your better and not show any mercy to any of your enemies? The 10 commandments are for all of us, for our own good. If everyone followed it daily, do you think people would still steal or kill innocent people? Things would be much more different. Just have a quick think about it If you read the genesis in the bible you’ll remember that God putted a curse towards us because of Adam and Eve. Genesis 3: 17 – To Adam he said “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat any of it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken from; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

Answer #106

My mother chose to give birth to me and she chose to be my parent ;). As for s*icide, did the people who committed it choose to be depressed or was that God’s will for them too? I could sit here and pick apart everything you have said all week. If God is such a perfect creator, maybe he would have created some legs for your argument to stand on, lol.

Furthermore, God created Satan. If God is all-knowing then he is also the creator of sin and that cannot be disputed. I suggest you learn about your religion before you try to preach it…

Answer #107

Haha, let it rip Yummeh :-P

Answer #108

The parent allows the painful operation because it must be done, or something worse will happen. What good results can you get from your child or parent being killed?

Answer #109

GOD is the CREATOR. HE DIED ON THE CROSS SO WE COULD LIVE! he gave me LIFE! thats why i give GOD credit!

Answer #110

Yes, but do you blame God for letting you go through pain and suffering? That’s what I”m saying, pastors, family, everyone gets mad if I say ‘’Why, God?’’ yet, they expect me to commend Him when he does good in my life.

Answer #111

i use to,but relized it was my actions that got me where i was/am in life. people forget how they set themselves up for pain, suffering, etc. plus everyone has free choice/will! i also agree with Natalia.

Answer #112

I went through a bout of depression a few years ago. I have lupus. For those of you who don’t know, it’s an autoimmune disease that effects every patient differently, for me it attacks my muscles and joints. Within 6mos of being diagnosed, I had to leave work, had been hospitalized, went through wild weight fluctuations (gained 200 lbs in 2 yrs, lost it all by year 5), ended up in a wheelchair and spent my days in a hospital bed in my living room, unable to walk any further than the half bath 15 ft away with assistance. I was 31 with a 9 yo daughter. My husband, who had shown abusive tendencies at the beginning of our marriage, but received counseling, became abusive - in every way imaginable, and he cheated. The only thing that kept me alive was my daughter, it wasn’t a belief in God, because at the time I had given up. I begged my family to help us, they would not. Finally, my husband threw me in the shower, tearing my rotar cuff, because I interrupted his phone call to his girlfriend. This is what caused my family to help me and it was a blessing, because as bad as it was, it was the end. After I started over, I was still angry and I blamed everyone. At a point, I just wanted something better for myself and my daughter, I wanted to believe again, so I started to pray. It was really hard, because I was so angry and bitter and I said a lot of hateful things. But my life is better now, even my health. I’m using a walker, soon to be using a cane. No longer stuck in a hospital bed all day, I take short walks every day, no weight problems and no depression. There were obviously mitigating factors, however I could have sought help for the depression, rather than allowing it to fester to such dangerous levels. Not everyone has somebody to live for, like I did. And if they don’t get help, they are putting their life in their own hands. Depression is a disease, just like my lupus, it deserves the same respect and to be treated. These problems don’t go away on their own. Btw, I did talk to a professional about my despression as well.

Answer #113

I’m truly sorry for what your parents have done or not done. When I was young, I had a very painful relationship with my parents. As far as why some people have children, I don’t know. But I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that you will be an excellent parent. That you will show your children complete love at all times. You will be there for them, you will tuck them in, read them stories and hold them during storms. You will break that cycle, because you know how painful it was to endure and your children will never question your love. Then when you see your childrens adoring faces, the past won’t matter quite so much, I promise. Made we go through these things to make us stronger and better people, I’d like to think that, otherwise it truly doesn’t make any sense at all.

Answer #114

You sound like George Carlin! I miss him! But, sorry I believe in all of that bullsh!t!

Answer #115

Answer #116

I never stated that those that dont believe in god will go to hell, that is a lot of BS…we all know that & those that dont need a reality check!

I never once stated that I was religious nor pretend to be 100% for religion… Again, god didnt say believe in the religion..god said believe in me…that I exist…be a good person & dont try to harm others on purpose with the intention to cause harm, inflict pain & kill! Enough, in no shape form or way am I going to start preaching here, that wasnt my intention then… nor is it now… So, YUMMEH, please dont put words in my mouth…What I was trying to say the entire time is that you cant blame god for everything wrong in the world… You got free will when you were born, to do & say as you please, but with that said, as everything in this world, there are consequences…like it or not…believing in god or the damn bush in the forest called a berry bush for all I care…MEANING…. You pass a red light, cops catch you, you get a ticket…if your h!gh & drunk you get arrested and a nice f@t DUI (meaning driving under the influence) For every action there is a reaction….inflict pain on to someone with intention to do so & wind up behind bars what cha gnna do blame god for that too?! Everyone just has to stop passing judgment already… I mean seriously….that is all I was & have been trying to say…Got it?! I am done with this topic…peace out!

Answer #117

I think you misinterpreted me… I did not mean to imply that you said that non-believers go to hell. That was a separate comment, lol.

Answer #118

Answer #120

god didnt know satan would become evil. he was originally an angel in heaven and tehn decided he wanted more power and so…when god created earth, satan slithered his way in and brought evil into the world. and no people arent kill because it’s “their time to go” but because it’s in god’s plan. what if that person who was hit by a bus was going to end up being a rapist or something? I’m not saying they WOULd but in my opinion…some things are done for the greater good

Answer #121

it’s part of god’s plan. what if that grief brought you to something bigger? what if that person who died was going to be evil when they grew up? you never know

Answer #122

Why give God credit?….. well if you believe in God then even if it is just for life itself…. Give thanks to God. Now, no one said life is gonna be easy. God said that himself. We don’t live in heaven we live on Earth. An earth full of sin. We all have sinned (we aren’t perfect). So in sin itself cuts us off from being a “good” person. Isaiah was a prophet in his day and time. He was considered the most righteous person, but once in the presence of God the first thing he did was said “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips”…. basically saying he’s a horrible person. So that right there tells us there is no good person. That’s why Jesus is such an important person in Christianity because he was sinless and when he died, he took away our sin. So when we accept Jesus into our hearts God doesn’t see our sin but Jesus’s purity.

As for an answer why bad things happen….. well you don’t get one. Job was a righteous man in God’s eyes and he allowed Satan to basically do horrible things to him. All Job did was praise God. He later questioned God for why he allowed such awful things to happen to him. God just told him that he’s in control. That’s it. Job got no answer besides that.

Why give God credit…… basically because he deserves it. You may think your life is the worst and hate your existence, but life (any kind of life) is a Gift from God. And life isn’t for us to do what we want, it is to do whatever God wants…. plus its an act of faith saying God’s in control.

Answer #123

You’re prefectly entitled to question God, as long as we do it respectfully, like a son to his father. Prophets of ancient times did so (Habakuk 1:2,3). No man has the right to go mad if you do so. But then, do we listen when HE answers to us?

Answer #124

For a fact we know that life was not allways here in this planet. And since we see design in every living creature, an inteligent source must have created it. If life hadn’t been created in the first place, no doctors at all would have been born. On the other hand , if you yourself used to believe, what happened? Did you stop believing in God or just in religion?

Answer #125

to angelle:God makes people die because they make him really mad or he wants them 2 be with him. dont u know that once we will all be in heaven on a court and God is going to ask u about what u wrote in here and not only u and then lots of people will be feeling really bad and u r not gonna have an answer and u might go to hell cause if u say y give God credit he is the one who has to say dat about u guys.i hope i will be in heaven for the rest of my life.its gonna really sad when people r gonna be going 2 hell and lots of crying

Answer #126

i said this not only to angelle but to everyone

Answer #128

Answer #129

God gives us free will..to choose to do right or wrong. He lets us have a chanc, that’s what I believe anyway. What is the point of creating a race that Heforced to follow Him? You may choose Satan or God.
