You’d smell it when it thawed … rotten meat has a pretty significant odour. However, frozen meat doesn’t really “go bad” … it gets freezer burnt, and this is noticeable if you see white patches or frost on the meat itself.
if it does have freezer burn can you still cook it?
It won’t make you ill, but it will taste like you’re eating the ice build-up from inside your freezer.

i agree if you get it tightly sealed it shouldn’t go bad, it can freezer burn if not then its bad
