Why does my friends kid hair smell so bad?

She is 6 years old & her hair smells like pee all the time. We’ve tried washing it & scrubbing with the best shampoos & baby shampoos & the second her hair dries it smells horrible again. She’s been to the doctor & they didn’t find anything wrong. It smells like urine & like when something wet has been left out & dried for too long. What could be causing it?

Does she have cradle cap? Next time your with your friend look at the girls scalp..cradle cap will be yellowish in color and its scaly looking. It does have a bad smell to it too. You can remove it by massaging the head with baby oil and using a comb.

Hmmm this is hard… Does she have dandruff? That’s the only thing I can think of that a doctor could miss. If she had any scalp disease the doctor would have picked up on it. Your friend could take her to a trichologist or hairdresser to properly assess the problem.
