Yes, I knew I had read something about it. If you read up on Cooper Pairs, then that explains one circumstance where they come into contact. Wikipedia actually has a great explanation of this process which is consistent with what I remember reading. There is a lot of debate about it… None of the articles I found from the Journal of Physics explain what Cooper Pairs are, but talk about their relevance to superconductivity. So read Wikipedia’s article first and then murder your brain when you get to college with all of the extensions on Cooper Pair and BCS theories :D.
