How to fix a Windows error that keeps my computer from booting up?

My computer will not start, I get this message: We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. And it says to use the up and down arrow keys to choose an option, but it does not work, I have googles ways to fix it, but I don’t have any backup disks and F8 does not work. Can anyone help me?

Answer #1

it sounds like you may need to restore your system. you wont get to keep anything that didnt come with the computer system. and any external hardrive will do as a backup disk.

Answer #2

Well I only use my PC to check mail and watch youtube videos, so I’m OK with losing all my data, lol.

Answer #3

It could possibly be an update error. It may also be a problem with your reigistry, if you manually altered it or cleaned it up, you may have gotten rid of something that you actually needed. Either way, registry repair software can fix either of these problems. Boot your PC up in safe mode and get some registry cleaning software. There’s a link attached with more tips on how to fix your problem.
