Finding the right kind of House Dog?

I have a quick question and need some advice. I’m looking for a inside house dog that will be no more than 12-15 lbs (if that) fully grown and that will do good with a 15 month old and a 6 year old. Can I get some advice on the breeds/types and the tempermants of different dogs. THX!

Here is a site that gives the “good” and the “bad” of nearly every breed…that makes it easier to decide what you can “put up with”, what “you really don’t care about”, and what you might find “wonderful”…

Well I have a Maltese. She is 8 pounds won’t get any bigger. She loves people and loves to cuddle up right next to people. She doesn’t bark much or bite.

I would strongly say a Weenie dog. I forgot how to spell its real name…I think its Dauschound…but anyway we have two. There very protective of their owners and love to play. Some can be hyper, but our two are calm. Mine is named weenie and annie and weenie likes to sleep a lot. Oh and by the way, they are house dogs. Annie likes to chase squirrels and so does weenie, but not as much as annie. But they both like to cuddle up next to who ever their sleeping with at night. And weenie likes to even go under the covers and get by my legs to sleep, ha ha. THey are both about 10 pounds and like loulou11 said, wont get any bigger.

Hope this helps!
