Should I offer to take the dog?

The woman a few houses down has a pregnant jack russel. It’s been pregnant for almost two months, so it will be giving birth anytime. As far as I know the dog has never seen a vet, and is on basic adult dry dog food. The other day I went on a walk and the dog was kind of juist came up to me. I petted it, and she seemed calm and well behaved. A woman came out and apoligized, and we talked for awhile. She bascially said that she couldn’t afford it, and was going to take the mom and pups to a shelter right after she gave birth. My dog passed away a few months ago, so I’ve kind of been looking for a new one. I can afford vet care and food. But the thing is I would have to raise the puppies and find homes for them. I woulndn’t mind doing this though. I want to get the dog before she gives brith so I can make sure everything goes smoothly. Is this a good idea?

YES!!! It would be a wonderful thing to save all those little lives, plus you’ll get a nice dog to help fill the hole left in your heart from the loss of your last dog…

Well I just brought her home. I couldn’t wait much longer, I had to get her in a more comfortable enviroment. Now I’m getting stuff together for puppies.

Yes, I think it’s a great idea. If the dog is taken to shelter, they wouldn’t have a chance. Most shelters will euthanize newborn puppies, they don’t have the space to care for them for 6-8 weeks. You’d be saving many lives.
