Where could I find safe (non-toxic to animals) paint?

I’m getting a chinchilla and I found a cage I like but its an ugly faded looking black. I was wondering if it was possible to paint it white to match my room with a safe animal friendly paint and if so were could I find it?

Answer #1

I would try home depot, lowes, walmart, ect.ask some where the non-toxic paint is and explain it’s for your pet. But if you can’t find anyone or are nervous asking people look for paint that doesn’t contain lead, zinc, or chromate. But look for paints that are fast drying, high adhesion, and hard-wearing.

Answer #2

you can make your own milk paint. look on the internet for a recipe. milk paint is what they used in the early 1800s

Answer #3

Milk paint is a good option and very safe. You could also look at is AMF Safecoat.
