Feeling sick after giving blood

Make sure you always drink plenty of fluid before giving blood - I didnt realise that before my first donation and I think I was a bit dehydrated and felt faint when I sat up. the second time around, I was well hydrated and had been drinking plenty all morning before giving blood during my lunch break and the nurses there said that drinking fluid beforehand is vital to making sure you dont feel strange during/after giving blood. What do you mean by “really sick”, is she vomiting constantly and unable to keep anything down? More importantly does she have a fever? She should not feel bad, maybe just a little tired. Did she have any problems during the process of giving. If she feels something is really “different feeling” you should take her in and have her ssen, probably the emergency room at this time of night. Good luck! {=

Ok, good! Now we have something to work with. (: As long as she is eating and keeping everything down (I assume there’s no more nausea since she’s eating??!!) Just make sure she drinks lots of fluids and rests. She should be feeling better soon. (Sounds like she’s well on her way) Take care and feel better soon!!! {=

When my sister gave blood she passed out and was out of it all day…oh ya and she had the munchies to…but she was fine and still is.

she is a decent size girl, so it might just be mental on top of the dizzy, tired feeling she may have experienced. I know people that get anxiety attacks or at the least start to hyperventilate at just the mention of drawing out blood

no no nuthing that serious, just her feeling like she was gonna vomit, but didnt, and just in a zone all day you know, nuthing really serious. o and she had munchies all day, I don’t know if that helps.
