that is one of the hardest decisions you ever had to make. the Rational, mental side of your brain did the right thing. Your emotional, feeling side wants to convince you that was wrong for underlying selfish (not bad selfish, simply your interest) needs. You never know what lays beyond our death and if we will see them again. I know I have a strong feeling that God will not let this love of ours be separated simply cause of death. When I go, I hope to see my feline children who have been waiting for me!

That’s a wonderful thing sweetheart, he/she is telling you thank you for being such a wonderful friend during his life. Now, he is trying to help you with your pain just like helped him when he needed it!! I don’t know why you had to put him down but it looks like you made the right decision because he’s there trying to help you with the pain of losing him/letting him go. It will get easier with time although it doesn’t feel that way now. Someday you will ba able to think about him without tears and will remember all of the wonderful things he did. Right now he’s saying thank you!! {=

Shannon…he was sick with Parvo, so of course the decision to let him go…tho heartbreaking and a huge disappointment…was the right one…When they get Parvo, you have to catch it and start supportive care immediately…With your poor little guy, there wasn’t even enough time to know when he actually caught it, or how long he’d had it…

It’s our responsibility as pet owners to make these hard decisions…and you made the right one…

If he had Parvo, your decision was right. Do you think the right decision would be to let him suffer? No, you did the right thing. That’s a good think that it feels like your dog is still with you. Having some comfort will make the grieving process a little easier to cope with. I wish you the best of luck in feeling better. I’ve been through many cats and dogs being put down whether they were my own, or the Shelter’s…Believe me, they slip away peacefully. Just like dying in your sleep..
