No - I don’t believe that the dead can speak - so how could we record their voices ?

Julie, Paranormal explanations for EVP are voices we cannot hear at our normal audible human frequency of 20 to 20’000 hertz, the EVP recorded was at 1’350 hertz, EVP’s are used as ghost hunting methods, you take a recorder into a building believed to be haunted, press record walk around asking questions and what not, later when you play it back you are believed to hear the dis-embodied voices of the dead

Hi Adam and thank you for the explanation which I do appreciate. I just don’t believe the dead can speak and so, to answer you original question, I don’t believe in EVP’s .

I don’t believe in ghosts or hauntings.

I DO believe that live human beings have great imaginations.

thanks for a good discussion, I respect your beliefs just like I hope you would respect mine, I will admit I do try to find a NORMAL explanation before I call anything haunted or paranormal, only where there are no explanations do I call it unexplainable, if I saw a UFO in the sky and could’nt identify it as a plane or something I wouldn’t say it was an alien craft I would say it was unidentified, it was flying and it was an object of some sort, there are hundreds of possibilities for any of these things

Yeah, it’s real and it’s happened to me before!!! I’ve recorded moaning, random sounds (some that I recognize and some I don’t) that I didn’t hear until I played it back, and and slurred words.

Yeah,Electronic Voice Phenomenons definitely are real! They are the one of the basic helpers.With the thermal camera and the the thermometer there is a special high power recorder which the hunters carry to extract the smallest possible sound.EVP’s were a major concern to check in the ‘ghost adventures’ series.However EVP’s can’t be recorded with a normal low profile recorder which you pick out from your junk bag! Normal recorders will spoil the sound quality and the blurring sound from the background will make it impossible to hear.However I am not sure weather that video of EVP’s is true or not because according to the ‘Paranormal Research Society’ EVP’s can possibly be traced once in a great while and they normally use one worded answers or make the answers cut as short as possible for which they might use indicatory words instead of directly saying what they want.

However if you believe in that video,I respect your belief.

Maybe they’re more likely or easier to be recorded on that kind of microphone, or maybe you can get a certain type of it with those methods, but I know I’ve recorded things that shouldn’t have been there with my own microphone at my computer.
