How do emotions trigger tears scientifically?

Answer #1

This is called crying, and it’s an automatic human response to profound revelations of thought or deep misery/loss or severe pain and circumstantial fear of/hope for death. Our feelings as the tears flow help us cope with the loss or revelation or what-not and the tears themselves inform others who care for us, and who may see them and understand your emotional trials. That way they can be the true friends that they are and try to help you through the storm. It’s entirely common and even healthy to an extent. I cried for Humanity not long ago while reading Kurt Vonnegut.

Answer #2

means emotions are linked with involuntary reactions
