Seconding what chihuahuaaddict said and giving my two cents that you should get them fixed.

Answer #2

oh don’t worry. I think it’s called knotting. he just gets stuck till he finishes. the girls whimpers a lot, or at least the dog I know do, and they don’t seem to want it. pulling him off could hurt them both. relax she’s fine.

Answer #3

They are just mating, so soon just like a human your dog will have puppies.

When a male locks up with a female…there is not much you can do but wait until he’s finished…how old r - each of the dogs ? The female is in heat, the smell of a female in heat drives the male crazy…he can sense it more than a mile away…to force the male off of the female, can hurt both of them…is the male bigger than the female ? dichihuahua

Answer #5

I would wait a few days to see if she calms down…and if she gets worse, Take her to vet, perhaps…?

Oh my. :(

Answer #6

Well GOOD…he must have a high supply of hormones, even without testicles…I’ve seen horses like that, too. They’re still interested in breeding, but nothing will come of it. If you get your girl fixed, she won’t come into heat, and he won’t feel a need to do her…better watch out tho, because he WILL feel a need to defend her against other male dogs…You could end up with vet bills that could have been avoided.

Answer #7

If your female has never been bred before, they can howl like they’ve been hit by a car…it may be “pain”, from the first breed…or it may be from the fact that she’s stuck, and is freaked out…Licking her vulva is normal just being in heat…

She’ll be fine, but if it were me, I’d keep him away from her, just to attemp a small litter size…that’s about the best you can do, now that you’ve got a bunch of mutts on the way…Hope you can find homes for them…

Answer #8

If you pulled them apart, you may have done some damage to the female and possibly your male. When a male ties with a female, you should never try to forcefully pull them apart, because you can cause serious damage to both the male and the female. They will release when they are ready. A female does not normally cry after they release, it’s not normal! If she is still crying, you need to get her to the vet immediately.

Answer #9

He has been nuted… they wont be having puppies lol.

Answer #10

Grasshopper and his dad are a part of a program based in our area called K9. They volunteer to clean out the kennels etc every weekend and help with fundraising. They are very responcible pet owners and both of their dogs were rescue pups. Just thought I would let you know this so you dont think he is a bad pet owner. Far from it.
