is ebonics an actual language or is it just an excuse to be ghetto?

when i meet pple they will tell me they are bilingual and they will say they speak english and ebonics. and i know i spelt bilingual wrong so dont tell me that.

hmp, it sounds like they are just screwing with you, it IS a type of language, but its a part of English, its just a side language

Actually, ebonics is considered another language in some places. I remember a few years ago there was a huge ordeal in our city because a school actually offered an ebonics class.

the word ebonics was originally used as a name for all languages spoken by African slaves, but its now often used as another name for African American vernacular. African American vernacular isnt a seperate language, its a different dialect of english.

its slang. and u do find slang in an english dictionary. but then again it is a variation of english. just like gullah or spanglish. so idk if its a whole different LANGUAGE but a variation.
