Why would eating strawberries at 5 AM give me really bad stomach pain?

well if you went right back to sleep then the stomach acid would be diluted by the bodies enzymes and thus the strawberries would not be properly digested, ergo they’d ferment in the stomach and thus the stomach will want to expel the sickening stuff

in short if you want to feel better you have to go throw up
