How to depressurize ears?

my ear always randomly pops. and i can hear myself breathing…what do u think it means?

Answer #1

Pressure in the air from an altitude change or a temperature change will make the “popping” sensation you are feeling. It can also be a result of inner ear problems. If you are feeling dizzy or vertigo all the time then see a doctor. If not, then learn how divers depressurize their ears.

Answer #2

If you want to try depressurizing your ears, hold your nose, close your mouth and gently blow outwards through your nose. The air won’t escape but travel through your sinuses to create inner ear pressure. That may help solve the problem.

Or try chewing gum, or swallowing, or moving your jaw back and forth with your mouth wide open. (I learned those while learning how to scuba dive).

If those don’t work and the problem persists, please consult a doctor.
