First of all, she can easily go deaf without Vet care…like Harley said, clean her ears out…but ALSO…clear her ears of ALL hair, so some air can get in there. That is probably the number reason she has an infection in the first place.

Now…the simple fact is this…an ear infection calls for Vet care. This is highly painful (just like it is for people). The Vet will clean out her ears, and give you an oitment to put in them for 7 to 10 days.

Tell your mom that YES, it is important to see the Vet, unless she doesn’t care if the dog is in a LOT of pain…and will eventually go deaf…

if her ears smell really bad, then its an ear infection. they make drops for that. you could get some at walmart, tractor supply, or any pet store. if her ears don’t stink, she could have ear mites, they make drops for that too. or she just might need her ears cleaned out.

ear infection can become a huge cost if not treated right. So if mom is not responsiable enought to take her to the vet here is something you can do at home. Clean out the ears with warm water and a bulb syringe, clean with gauze pads. BUT I am sure your dog also need antibiotic for the ears. So good luck with what you are limited to do. Next time your mom is sick, tell her you don’t think it is that bad and she don’t need a doctor or meds.

You really should go to a vet. Please tell your mother she is making a mistake by not seeking a medical opinion.
