Do you drink to get drunk or drink to have a good time and know your limits?

& why?

Answer #1

When i drink i drink to get drunk because when im drunk i cant think any bad thoughts and end up passing out. I dont want to think because my thoughts lead to negative action which is worse than drinking and drinking helps ease my pain..

Answer #2

I usually never drink more than a couple of drinks as I do not like hangovers at all and sadly always seem to get one.

Answer #3

i drink because i like, not to get drunk. I HATE when people drink to get drunk, is very immature on their part.

Answer #4

I usually just drink to get tipsy, and I know when to stop. If I dont stop, then I would have a hugh hangover the next day and that is not fun!!

Answer #5

I think I would say it rally depends on the situation… I used to drink to feel numb, found out that no matter what, the next morning that empty, aching depressing feeling remains! It really doent ever go away until you learn to come to terms with that empty, aching depressing feeling! That is when I really stopped drinking to feel numb!

Today, I know how to handle my drinking…I do it bcz I feel like getting loose, tipsy just in a good mellow mood…not for any other reason.

Hope this helped.

Answer #6

I drink to pass out. But ocasionally when I can’t sleep.

Answer #7

I know the feeling. I’ve had two or three drinks & have woken up with major headaches..

Answer #8

need to make sure that u drink a lot of water to rehydrate after drinking esp before bed.

Answer #9

I drink because it is an easy escape from the burden. I will not stop until I pass out to bed. I do not drink out side the house…

Answer #10

i never drink more than a couple of drinks

Answer #11

I won’t drink outside the house either. I’m way too scared to. & I doubt you have any serious burdens.

Answer #12

Thats what they all say… after they’ve finished off a sixer.. Ha,ha!

Answer #13

But it is true, once you have a couple of drinks in you, & your feeling all nice & tipsy., it’s hard to slow down on the drinks. Even when it’s in a private setting. Like your home or a shut in…

Answer #14

Occasionally I’ll have a shot of Scotch or so before I settle down at night just to get that warm feeling so I can doze off to sleep easily. I tend to drink more when I’m by myself, I think. Or at least I drink in my room more often than I drink in a more social setting (friends have taken to coming and seeing me when I do so now, so I can’t say I drink alone.) I used to be in a habit of drinking while playing video games, which usually ended in me playing until I couldn’t manage any longer and passing out. If I’m with a couple friends I tend to be comfortable enough to get a little intoxicated, but if I’m with a big crowd I won’t have many at all.

Answer #15

Oh, you know you’ve tied a few on.

Answer #16

I have only sat down to drink with the intention of getting completely plastered once, and that was one too many. Man I was hung over for the next 2 days. Most of the time when I drink its just one beer. I like the little bit of a relaxing effect it has.
Other than that i will drink to get pleasantly drunk on rare occasional, maybe 4 times a year.

Answer #17

I grew out of that. When I first started drinking I found it hard to stop after a reasonable number of drinks but now I can enjoy whatever number I decide on beforehand. Last time I let things get out of hand was a decade ago when I got smashed at a company event. People still talk about that one.

I find a lot of the impulse to drink comes from just holding a glass. At parties I usually alternate between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so I won’t drink too much.

Answer #18

If you like Scotch try Irish whiskey. Irish whiskey is a lot like Scotch but has a subtler yet more complex flavor.

I’ve gotten a few people to switch from Scotch to Irish Whiskey by giving them a taste. I think a lot of people like Scotch only because they haven’t tried Irish whiskey yet.

Answer #19

Thank you for the advice. Is Irish whiskey common? As in, will I be able to find it in the average liquor mart?

Answer #20

only drink enough to make you feel open and have a good time
