Why do I keep getting dreams about being in an earthquake?

i live in california, and everybody keeps mentioning how the next big earthquake can happen any second, but i dont even think about the quake, but at least three times a week i keep getting a dream about being in the earthquake.

Even before I read the description, my first thought was “you live in California”…thing is, I’ve been through three earthquakes while I was there, none of them was a big deal.

I’d stop reading the news about it, and if that doesn’t help, just remember that it’s far more likely you’ll perish in a car crash than an earthquake…AND you’re probably in a car regularly, right? Most fears like this are irrational…if you can convince yourself of that, you’ll be fine.

OMG! me 2! i live in california too and i have dreams of earthquakes too. They stopped after a while tho. Its probably caz subconcious those sayings scare you and r on ur mind often. What i did was listen to music goin to bed or read to get my mind on something so when i fell asleep i was dreamin of that.

I had an earthquake dream just a few days ago…I have found out I see such dreams when there are mild tremors in the place where I live (I live in Bangalore, India), or a big earthquake elsewhere, at the time of my sleep. Because usually every time I wake up from such a dream, the next day newspapers carry the news of either mild tremors felt in Bangalore, or a big earthquake elsewhere.
