On your ipod there should be the app store for the latest nano and the ipod touch but otherwise download them from itunes.

go on itunes.com and click on the app store and sync the app to yournipod. or just use the store on your ipod:)
depends on the app some of them are free some of them cost 99 percent some are even up to twenty dollars
