Let’s put it this way, dogs have a hyper-acute sense of smell, when they are sticking their head out that car window, they are effectively “seeing” the world in olfactory terms - each smell like a signature of something. Kinda exciting, right? Now how would you feel if I blew in your face, or a wino, or someone who just had a lot of seafood or garlic. It is an invasive action , threatening and annoying. Also those are strong odours I was describing, coming back to a dogs heightened sense of smell, you canjust imagine how over-powering your breath would be to an animal. Hell, I’m not a dog but would get seriously peeved if you blew in my face! And for baaa who said that her rat (dogs do this too) sneezes afterwards, that is to clear out the smell/stink of your breath!

I don’t know about dogs that much. But, I guess they must not like the wind directly to their faces, but spread all around.
