is stairs good for their knees and is it good or bad if the dog is overweight an he runs up and down the stairs?

If it is a small dog and it is overweight and has luxcetting patellas then yes this is very bad. Any dog being overweight is bad. Stairs are not good either because it is a hard impact on there knees, they need exercise but something like walking or on a treadmill. or in water. Dogs can get the same problems humans can from being overweight.

me I think that overweight is bad but running up the stairs is good exercise but not to much if you do it a lot it is bad on the knees…

animals need to stay in shape, just like we do.

if a pet is overweight- it does have an impact on it’s overall health, and running up and down stairs- while overweight could have bad consequences down the line.

if you went to a vet- they would place your pet on a diet plan, to get it back where it needs to be weight wise.

The stairs aren’t bad for his knees…his weight is. Put him on a strict diet, and save yourself a lot of worry…stairs are better than jumping up and down off the furniture, tho.
