Dog mating

Could it take 3-5 days after mating for the female to conceive? My boxer is showing all signs of pregnancy and tied with the male for 15 min twice around the 14th and 16th day of heat. The vet is seeing no signs of puppies on an xray but wants to recheck in a week because she finds it weird.

sorry but at the hospital I work at , that is way to early to do x-rays.

we would do it as early as 48 days but only if the owner new for sure what day they tied, she may be pregnant but the skelton of the pup is not there yet.

first how far into gestation is your dog?? YOU do not do x-rays until around the 58-62 days into gestation because you could do harm to the pups, on x ray you are viewing the skeleton of the pup, if they don’t have there skeleton yet, he won’t see them on x-ray, best to do ultra sound. So how far do you think she is and what signs is she showing.

She was 45 days in when xray was taken. That was when the vet said to have it done. She has gained 5 pounds in 5 weeks, has had the week of morning sickness about 3 weeks in, has large mammary glands, and firm swelled abdomen.
