This is not exact but as each placenta tears away from the inside of the uterine horn their is a rare spot created that must heal. Thus the bleeding. 2 pups there is not as much bleeding as say 9. As long as the blood does not have a bad odor and is not dark green after a couple of days your dog is fine.

Harley is correct in saying that 6-8 months is about when you dog will come back into heat. Except some dogs only come into heat once a year. My Boxers and two Bostons only come into heat once a year.

Get your dog spayed and you will not have to worry about it. Call around and check the prices. Some Vets charge less than others. Some Animal Shelters offer a coupon. Some cities have a clinic or van that goes around and does this for a small fee. See if your city does any of these.
