Dog feeding problem

Well my puppie weighs 39 pounds and she eats a lot but I was wandering how much exactly she should be feed I feed her when everher bowl is empty.

Answer #1

My dog is a dachshund/beagle mix who weighed darn near 40 lbs at one point. We started feeding her 1/2 cup of dry food with a half can of wet food twice a day. She has lost 5 lbs and has been on the diet for 2 months now.

Read the side of package, and see how much a puppy at her weight should be eating…from there, you watch her, and if she starts gaining, feed a little less…if she starts to look like she’s losing weight, feed a little more.

She should be fed twice a day until she’s about a year old…(and even longer if she’s going to be a big dog)…So be sure to divide what they say on the package 1/2 for each meal.

YOu shouldnot keep food down all the time. For puppies, feed them a couple times a day because they can’t hold a lot of food compared to adults. Adult dog need to be fed maybe twice a day, every twelve hours. MY german sheperd live for thirteen years on one big meal a day. Then again, he was spoiled like no other. Just make sure you feed them a good dog food.

in the end she should onli be fed once a day dont keep on filling her bowl up she will get fat feed her 3 times a day morning, lunch, tea times leave her a bowl of biscuts out but dont keep refilling it she will learn to make it last between meals

Answer #5

Yes to all that phrannie said feed according to the directions on the back or side of the Puppy food. Or according to the breeders instructions if you are still on that food. I feed my puppies twice a day. With a dog biscuit at bedtime. Pick you food after feeding. Don’t leave food down for flies or whatever to get into and don’t free feed.
