If my dog has parvo, is he going to die or does he have a chance to live?

My pupy has this disease called parvo, we noticed it on friday when he started throwing up fluids and not eating his food & took him in on Sunday morning to the vet. They took care of him, and gave us good news at first that he was doing well, but on Today- Wednesday, they told us that he threw up blood and is having diaria (sorry for mispelling) and that he is at the critical stage now. I really love this dog with all my heart, I’m really attached to him. I really want him to make it, it would devastate me if he died, I already lost my other dog due to getting killed by a coyote. I just don’t know anymore. I’m really upset, worried and I just don’t want to lose my little baby. I’m praying more than I’ve ever have beofre, I’m hoping he makes it, that he doesn’t die on me, I love this dog so much. My parents are crying so much, when we heard the bad news and my dad is telling me to prepare myself, it really hurts so much. Im crying as I type this.

well by sounds of it he has a 50- 50 chance of living, due to you seeing the signs early gives him more of a fighting chance, but you should still prepare in case he doesn’t, im sure the vet will try the best they can to keep your dog going. all the best for you, your family and your dog

Seeing they caught it early it does increase his chances of living. However his fight is a big one. Most puppies don’t die from parvo but from dehydration and secondary disease or infections. Seeing your dog is with the vet he is in a stress free and sterile environment therefore giving him even better chances of surviving. The virus is nasty and usually gets worse before getting better so hang in there. I have a pretty good feeling he will come through.
