Does Wellbutrin really work for quitting smoking? I was told by an ex-smoker friend of mine that they tried everything and nothing worked until they tried the drug wellbutrin that their doctor recommended. I know it is a psychiatric drug? Does it really work and are there any side effects or compelling reasons why one should avoid the drug. I want to quit, have tried multiple times but have never tried this method.
I found that it prevents any satisfaction from smoking. So taking a big drag on a cigarette really doesn't do anything. Its like the thing wasn't lit. But I persevered and smoked anyway, and it wasn't long before they had no effect. What finally worked for me was the patch. I just bought the strong ones and cut them in half. Used them every day and in a few weeks I just stopped the patch and that was it. I smoked a pack a day for 40 years. Its been 5 years now. I get a nic-fit once in a while, like once in a month or two, but it passes in moments. I know if I lit one up though, I could be right back at it, so I don't even take one puff. Good luck
