Does blue hair dye get washed away after a while even if permanent?

Yes, of course it will get washed away after a while…I have magenta highlights and even though my hair dye is a permanent one, it gets washed away after I wash my hair 4 or 5 times…so, once in a while you’ll have to mantain your colour.

my friend has the same hair as you and she dyed some of her hair blue. she has to go back to the salon every 5-6 weeks to get the blue redone. hers doesnt turn orange. her just fades. I hope I helped. good luck.

Yes it does. Before applying the blue colour, the hair needs to be bleached for the colour to colour properly. The reason for this is because most fashion colours only stains the hair it doesn’t colour like a permanant colour, and even if it is a permanent colour because the hair was bleached it becomes porous and has no pigments, so it washes out. And as for the orange… It depends what colour you had on you hair before the bleaching was done, if it was something with red pigment, bleaching it will make it orange as it lightens. The hairdresser had put the blue over the orange because it was the right level of lightness for the blue to come out properly. But when the blue washes out, you are still left with orange! Orange will only come out with mulitple bleaching and toning. (and praying that your hair can take the beating!)
