Does a lip piercing effect your health?

I was thinking of getting my lip pierced again. When I first got it done I had to take it out because I got a job. Well I no longer have enough time for a job so I want it done again. I hear that it can be bad for your health. Or sometimes your teeth. I have friends that have piercings done but it hasn’t effected them. Everyone is different though.

Hi.

I used to have a lip ring (I also removed it for a job), and I found that it harmed my teeth much less than my tongue ring does. My tongue ring has completely obliterated the little ridges on the top of my bottom teeth. But when I had the lip ring, it wasn’t harmful or dangerous at all to my teeth. The only things I could really see being a danger are:

  1. Hitting it against something (ie. at a concert dancing or something).
  2. Biting on it in your sleep or while eating by accident.
  3. Infection (which won’t happen if you go to a safe piercer and take good care of it).

Feel free to funmail me with any questions or anything.

hope that helps!

I knew a girl in college who pierced her own lip and paralyzed the lower left half of her face. Definitely nerves in there you don’t want to mess with. Be careful.
