How will a doctor treat genital warts?

I got genital warts off my ex, I told my current boyfriend and am going to the docs on wednesday, just wondering what to expect…

Answer #1

its best not to get it treated and let it go on ots own! once theyre gone you never get the same kind of wart again! :)

Answer #2

i had warts and i believe my mom pumped me with vitamin c and they went away and i havent had them since, im not sure what a doctor will do. They might freeze them off or tell you to do something simple

Answer #3

but in more serious cases, like not just pin warts i would go see a doctor!!! :)

Answer #4

genital warts, not the normal type! i didnt think they froze those off did they? :)

Answer #5

Well when I had one on meh elbow! (ewwwy) they had to freeze it with nitrogen and then it went away….

Answer #6

I would but theyve been there ages and make me feel a little trashy. Thanks anyway :)

Answer #7

you need to go to a dermatologist. It depends where the wart is how your tretment will be. Mine was on the bottom of a toe so he gave me a cream to use twice day and it went away within a month and a half.

Answer #8

oh and dont just leave it, they can pop up other places if left untreated!

Answer #9

Ew Im not getting frozen down there lol

Answer #10

opps my bad i didnt read the question fully =P

Answer #11

You could also try ‘Freeze Away’’ other than that, they’ll probably just give you a cream

Answer #12

Ah yes I found that out the hard way :/

Answer #13

I may see if a little extra vitamin c will help in the meantime, cant imagine itd do any harm to try :)

Answer #14

they can burn them off

Answer #15

generally they freeze them off, the wart pretty much falls offf in i beleive a few days. however you can also get rid of them yourself, putting a bandaid over it will help suffocate it and will make it die quicker

Answer #16

I have a wart on my hand, or atleast i used to, and she froze my wart, and i had to put this kind of weird medicine on it. and it took about sixth months for it to finally disappear and now feel more comfortable now. but yea i think you ca get it froze off.

Answer #17

Oh dear god. Genital warts gets a suggestion for “Freeze Away?” O_O

Answer #18

I’m appalled…nobody here has given you the correct advice for genital warts…. regular wart treatments won’t help this. Your doctor will prescribe you a Podopfilox ointment that you can use at home or apply Podophyllin (a less likely treatment these days).

Answer #19

Wrong, wrong, wrong… genital warts MUST be treated

Answer #20

Oh I didn’t notice the GENITAL part….

Answer #21

Ah thats what I was looking for in particular, thanks :) I was worried I’d only get pills or: something and I really hate taking pills. This has reassured me knowing external treatments are available :)

Answer #22

yeah if i was you get seen about it!
