Do you need a credit card for a hotel room?

I was wondering, im thinking about staying at the Marriott hotel for one night, and its the Fairfield Marriott, and I was wondering if their chain of hotels requires you to have a credit card to be able to get a room, or if you can just pay cash and pay a deposit fee…so yeah? and also if I do pay a deposit fee what is it based on and how much are they usually for one adult, one night ? THANK YOU!

You have to have a credit card number on file so they can charge that if you forget to pay.

You can pay cash and deposet fee you just have to have that on file. Generally between $50 and 100 dollars.

Answer #2

In order to reserve a hotel room - you have to have a credit card on file. They make you have one in case something happens to the hotel room while you are staying there, or something comes up missing - so they can charge you for the damages that you caused. They won’t rent out a room to a person with no credit card - you also usually have to be 21 years old in the hotels where I live, I dont know about over there.
