What is discernment?

Discernment:

1 : the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure : skill in discerning 2 : an act of discerning synonyms DISCERNMENT, DISCRIMINATION, PERCEPTION, PENETRATION, INSIGHT, ACUMEN mean a power to see what is not evident to the average mind. DISCERNMENT stresses accuracy (as in reading character or motives or appreciating art) . DISCRIMINATION stresses the power to distinguish and select what is true or appropriate or excellent . PERCEPTION implies quick and often sympathetic discernment (as of shades of feeling) . PENETRATION implies a searching mind that goes beyond what is obvious or superficial . INSIGHT suggests depth of discernment coupled with understanding sympathy . ACUMEN implies characteristic penetration combined with keen practical judgment .

every on descrimates all the time. it has to do eith making choices. If you deside taht you like Mc Donalds over Burgger King, then you descrimate. In the South there were a group of laws that are called Jim Crow laws these laws were represive laws derected at non whites. these laws have been repealed but some people are sencitive to any thing that looks like they are comming back or some one is making desions based on such things as race. I was doing the door at Wal-Mart one night and watched a woman who had payed for her purches at the back of the store, she was going up one isle and down anouther. Then she came to the door I asked her for a recpt. She asked me if I was asking for everyones. asked her for the recpt again, she sead it was descrmation, I told he it was and that she was to let me see the recept. You see I descrmated aganst her becuse she was going up and down the isles after she payed for her stuff. It has become a catch pharse to beat people over the head with and people use it to control others. It like a kid saying that they fail becuse the teacher does not like them and you know they never study.
