Poseidon is the Greek name, Neptune the Latin name. Just like Eros (Greek) and Cupid (Latin), and Zeus (Greek) and Jupiter (Latin).

Answer #2

I know but still

Answer #3

Still what? It’s the same god with two different names.

Answer #4

Poseidon is a god of many names. He is most famous as the god of the sea. Neptune is the 8th planet in our solar system. LOL! Hope it helps.

Answer #5

I would say Roman rather than “Latin”. When you talk about about groups of gods worshiped by a people we call it a pantheon. Poseidon is the god of the sea in the ancient Greek pantheon while Neptune is the god of the sea in the Roman pantheon. Other than local gods the Greeks and Romans basically had the same gods under different names. Much like how the Abramamic god is called Yahweh by Jews, God by Christians, and Allah by Muslims.

Answer #6

poseidon was the greek name for him he was to control the sea and be sacrid to sailors.he was supposed to be nice until his roman form neptune after neptune poseidon became an evil figure more violent as did all the other gods.
